Foggy Caturday evening greetings, dear friends and vines for all in need and with extra vines for @elizabeth and gus in these days of her Gus flying in the Great Beyond. ❤️❤️❤️

This past month has been kinda....topsy turvy.
Three more friends passed away within a week of each other: two friends who were longtime friends of my mother and me, and then last week a classmate friend from high school. These three women all lived in the village within a good stone's throw (or more like a competitive hurler's throw) from each other. All gentle passings and they are very much missed.

We experienced not one but two plumbing problems last week: first a leak sprung in the bathroom Steve uses, the leak going through the ceiling below; then a few days later a leak sprung in my bathroom that he had been using while the other one was unusable. @Bobbie And Bubba: I thought of you and your wisdom to have br renovation done before disaster strikes!;)

The tribe is hanging in. Polydactyl Dancer still hates to have her nails trimmed! Bella decides to be in solidarity with Dancer in most things including nail trims.

Spunky is a trooper about nail trims and ear cleanings but has resumed the nasty habit of over exuberant "love" bites to make her needs known. Enough to break skin and be quite startling. Grrrr.

Azalea is hanging in even though the past few weeks have been challenging. Another gingivitis flare started up and she began to over groom herself. At reg vet's urging, stupid me reluctantly agreed to a start a third 7-day pulse dose of Zithromax. During that week, she pretty quickly went downhill, gingivitis worse, appetite off and began pulling fur out. Even with round the clock assist feeding, she lost almost a pound of weight in those few days. When reg vet said do another pulse dose and wanted to delay labs, I said no and haven't been back.

Long story short,I then brought her back to her dental specialist (and got lab work and fiv antibody test done without the drama at the other vet), her acupuncture/TCM vet and our house call homeopathic/TCM vet. Azalea is beginning to feel better. She's gained back the pound of weight lost, and with the addition of a constitutional homeopathic (interestingly, it's one for shingles and neuropathic pain), she's eased up on the fur pulling to the extent that now I find maybe two or three small tufts in the morning instead of wads and wads wherever she's settled in.

Crossing paws for Azalea and all kitties in fragile zones.

Here's a photo of Azalea this morning, more interested in standing watch over her catnip banana than in finishing her breakfast; and a photo of early harvest moon the other night while it was ascending over the river.

Sending our love, thanks, hugs and healing vines for all in need in all ways,:bighug::bighug::bighug:
❤️
Sina and Sootie's Tribe.

P.S. (Ref discussion in sept condo): Haven't forgotten about discussion about doing thread re cbd. Les @Gussie's mom reminded me that she started a thread about cbd earlier this year that was moved to think tank. How about revive discussion there?!!!

Poor Azalea. I'm glad she's doing better. I hope she continues to improve. Sorry about Spunky's "love" bites. I hope that settles down soon. I'm glad Bella and Dancer are doing well. I hope you got your plumbing problems fixed. Sorry about the loss of your friends. Sending prayers for all. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friends! How awful to lose three friends, especially so close together. :bighug: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I'm glad Azalea is doing better and has regained the lost weight. I love the pics of her, especially the one of her guarding her catnip banana! :p
My guys agree with Dancer and Bella about the nail trims, lol. Spunky, love bite aren't supposed to hurt! :cat::cat::cat:

Sina, I hope your plumbing issues are,'t too difficult to resolve. In my house it seems like there is always water where you don't want it and a lack of it where it should be, lol, one lloooonnnggg plumbing job! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Lucy. It's been a strange year in lots of ways, but, alas, that's the way it goes sometimes.

How are you and your tribe?

Yes, plumbing, when it decides it's time to make itself known, sure can be vexing. But there are far worse tempests swirling around in the world, resulting in far worse than a few days of aggravation, unanticipated expense and inconvenience. In that light, I count our blessings❤️.

Hope you have a gentle evening, and with Squallie nice and steady in those nice greens!❤️

Hi Sina,
Thanks for the report on the tribe. I'm so glad that you found some remedies for Azalea. She looks like she's really enjoying that liver shake! Rusty gives the vet and vet- techs a very hard time when we bring him in for a nail trim. You would think they were killing him!
The only good thing about plumbing leaks is that the water can be turned off until they get fixed. We've had our share, too.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your 3 friends. I'm glad they had peaceful crossings.

Beautiful photo of the moon over the water.

Hugs and scritches,

Hi Sina,

First, my condolences on the loss of your fiends. It's one of the toughest parts of aging when those we love start to leave us in batches. :( We can only focus on how much they added to our lives and keep those good memories fresh in our hearts. :bighug:

My kittens are both into love bites. I'd never had a cat do that before, so it's taken some adjusting on my part. They don't seem to be interested in adjustments on theirs!

My poor, sweet Azeala, what a time you've had! I'm so glad she's showing progress with the new treatments. Please give her scritches from me, as you know she has a special place in my heart!

Natasha also does not like to have her nails trimmed, or to be restrained for any reason. She develops super strength when we try, so it takes two of us to get the job done. Boris doesn't care for it, either, but is much less combative.

Bummer on the plumbing issues. I hope all will be resolved soon. You're right - there are certainly worse things going on in many homes in our country lately. We should all count our blessings.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) Thank you, Ella.
Yes, Azalea is a gung ho liver shake girl, she seems to resonate with it. And if it weren't for you mentioning it to Bobbie when Bubba got so sick (a year or so ago?), we'd have been up the creek. I think I'd read about it but it didn't sink in until you suggested it to Bobbie. RLS has gotten us through some very touch and go times with Sootie, Bo and Azalea. We are ever grateful to the member who originally posted the recipe and to you for keeping it on the radar and reminding LL about it! :bighug:❤️:bighug:
Hoping you all are well and that Rusty continues to feel better each day. He is one special fella, as are his beans :bighug:❤️:bighug:

@Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey Hey, Tricia and thank you for all. ❤️

Your KCMO kittens must be getting bigger each day and full of the dickens, overly exuberant love bites and all. When Sootie and her sisters were little, I don't remember them doing that or if they did, they got over it. They did have "exciting" habit of getting into my yarn and knitting needles especially while I was knitting. Play time for kittens, oh boy! I remember them soon getting the message when I exclaimed, "No, that's MY yarn!" with the tone "hey, you have YOUR toys, I have MINE!" ;):bighug:❤️
As they got older, they were content to sleep along side me or on the project while I was knitting. Sweaters in-progress were particular favorites of theirs. ❤️

Thanks too for your scritches for Azalea. She was a little more perky this morning. Was only one fur pluck on her bedding this morning. Thank you for holding her in your heart. She feels it, too. :bighug:❤️:bighug:

Hoping you all are well. We all send our love and scritches with extra huggly ones from Azalea for you and your Tribe :bighug::bighug:❤️:bighug::bighug:

Hi Sina, good to hear from you and your tribe and sorry to hear that you have had some more losses in the friendship circle. Hugs to you and to their families. (Guess we are getting to that age.....)

Oh Azalea, you are such a little trouper and the photo is adorable. Glad she has gained back some weight and that he holistic doc is helping her along with the fur loss. Interesting the remedy choice but, if it does the job, Great!

The moon over the water is beautiful. And hope that all the plumbing issues get fixed. We are up and going in our new master bath all but the mirror and lights over the vanity. Nothing worse that having a bathroom out of commission. Is Steve handy? Eric is extremely handy but that can be a double edge sword because I can't fire him if he's not fast enough, LOL.

Glad that hurricane season will soon be wrapping up. This had been a horrendous season.

Hugs to you and yours! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi, Bobbie, Thanks and :bighug::bighug::bighug:.
Yes, we're getting to that age, aren't we? Oh my. ;).

Azalea is indeed a trouper. For such a tiny fragile being, she's got heaps of inner fortitude, that's for sure. The mezereum remedy still seems to be helping and her mouth is clear lately, too, though still quite sensitive. But she's eating, holding her weight and hanging in.

Glad your br renovation near complete. How did the lagoon countertop work out? How companies come up with color names that represent the color and resonate with consumers must be a hoot.

Alas, Steve is not at all handy or inspired about home repair stuff. If was a boat, that'd be a different matter altogether!. :banghead::facepalm:But even if he was so inclined, I'd probably find myself in same DH double edged sword dilemma that you described;).

Glad you liked the photos. I was surprised about how that moon pic came out...no adjustments other than a bit of cropping....reminded me of early 20th century postcards.

Hoping today fares well, hugs and thanks from us all here and scritches for Bubba❤️ Sunshine again :bighug:❤️:bighug:

It turned out awesome! It's really a white with some taupe running through it but, reads mostly light in color. When I saw the name of it, I looked no further  Eric did all the work with only help with the subway tiling in the bathtub and shower. Next is the mirror that will go from the backsplash all the way to ceiling and two lights on either side of the sink cut through the mirror. Needless to say, I am so thrilled with my new space.

Wow! It's beautiful! What color are the cabinets? Love the contrast! New floor too? Big yay for your design choices and DH's (and subway tile helper's) work!

The cabinets are Decora brand and they are called Angora, it's a taupe that can read grey or brown. It a real neutral room and the oil painting done by my SIL will be the only pop of color in the room and it will hang on the wall opposite of the vanity and reflect in the mirror ( when we get it)

It was quite a project; everything is new. This bathroom is part of an old hallway bath room, a very small master bathroom , and a walk in closet. So everything is new, walls, floors tub, toilet etc. Glad you asked about it, I've been wanted to show it off .

Here's the rest of it.

Aawww. She is a sweetie. Reminds me of my Missy cat. She was a lil thing too. Well, most of my previous kitties were compared to Gizmo.

How is your loop rug coming along?

Double wow, Bobbie! Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing photos at last! I love your in-wall shelving and the idea of making a little semi privacy divider (also storage?) at the toilet, too.

Love the names: Decora/Angora/Lagoon! That taupe reminded me very much of a shade of 100% angora yarn that I carry at the shop: here's the shade card: #813 taupe. Simular?
Hope the kitties are doing well, Sending heaps of scritches and vines:bighug:❤️:bighug:

Eta: duh, shade card added

She is indeed, Lizzie. Was your Missy a tabby, too? How's Gizmo today? (Better yet, I'll hop to it and catch up on LL condos tonight).

The rug project has been quiet lately. But I'm close. Was experimenting with adding a subtle contrast border, with a local Llama/wool blend wool yarn that's almost silvery taupe (hey, Bobbie: taupe grey!) but then I covered everything when the ceilings had to come down bc of the upstairs br plumbing problems (didn't want plaster dust getting into it.). I've got to get back to working on it before I lose momentum! Thanks for the gentle nudge!:bighug:❤️:bighug:

Yes she was. The sweetest ever. Lost her to crf at 18. She then sent me Gizmo about 6 weeks later . I wasn't ready for another but she thought differently.

Gizmo is doing good. Got another reducie last night and doesn't seem to be missing a beat. IDK what he is up to :banghead:.

Didn't want to hi-jack but @Bobbie And Bubba OMG I love, love, love the cabinets; the style, the color. It is exactly what I want for my kitchen.

plaster dust
Uuhhgg, I know it well. We had our entire house replumbed
