Hi there,

We are unsure of what to do with these green numbers. My vet wanted us to skip the shot when under 100, but she was unsure with the Cabergoline in the mix. (Tiff is her first Acro patient.)

My husband and I studied Marvins chart yesterday because Tiff seems to be doing what he did. We are reducing not one but two units this morning because my vet was worried that Tiff may get too much insulin in her depot. Any thoughts, advice? @Wendy&Neko

We are watching her closely.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Yes on reducing by 2 units. You can always go back up if you need to but it's best to play safe with the larger depot. The other thing that Nat had to do with Marvin was to occasionally skip a shot to drain the depot, or do a BCS or half dose, especially if she wasn't around to test and monitor closely. The larger depot can take 6 cycles to drain, so you are still seeing some effects of the 15 unit depot today. If you find yourself doing a lot of back to back reductions, it might be better to do a one time reduced dose to bring the depot down.

Has your vet had cats on Levemir before? It's often the lowest point of the cycle, so you will have to shoot lower numbers. The "don't shoot under 100", seems like Lantus or other insulin type of thinking. Tiffany does seem to nadir quite late.

Thanks Wendy! We so appreciate your knowledgeable advice and feedback! Hope you are doing well. You are a blessing to so many of us.

So interesting to read Tiffanys signature and spreadsheet, looks a lot like where Titan is heading. We are just starting to see lower numbers on the higher doses. It's good to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Work those juices Tiffany!

Paws crossed for Titan!

@Wendy&Neko
Tiff has been in the 70's all day. I am thinking we do half the dose tonight just to be safe. I spoke with her vet, who agreed with me, but also wanted to see if you think this is the best move. Yes?

May want for Wendy to chime in, I was too chicken to shoot that low, so I would have skipped the dose. However with that said, I did notice you have shot that low before, so a half dose is good too, to drain the depo some more.....

It is exciting to see her SS, keep it up Tiffy... Good job Jadi

Thanks Nat. It is getting scary for us. I am going to wait a few more minutes and see if Wendy chimes in.
