Eating last night's +4.5 took encouragement but he finally finished it (PS and +2.5 no issues). Did not eat his +7.5 snack but did eat his +9.5 FD. Ate this morning PS with enthusiasm.

I am not going to give any meds or Canna this morning. I will come home if he is not eating and give him a Mirtz.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hope u are feeling much better, Lizzie :bighug:
Much. I got some rest yesterday and don't feel like I am going to die today at least - lol. Yesterday I felt like my whole body was going to give out. Two nights with ~2-4 hours of sleep just doesn't cut it.

Gizmo has eaten all his fudz so far today! Just finished his +4.5 which he was laying in wait for when the autofeeder turned. YAY! He seemed better this morning too.

Yay for Gizmo's appetite - fingers crossed for the rest of the day
I know what you mean about taking a med holiday
I think I figured out what is going on!! In "talking" it out with another member via PM. I strongly suspect the Adequan. All eating/nausea issues started when I started it. Am going to discontinue. You can even see the pattern on my SS. AND I discontinued all supplements 08/02/17 - almost exactly 1 month after starting the Adequan. I discontinued the supplements because I thought they were the cause - I don't think they were. Gizmo hadn't had any eating issues (or very, very rarely) since his last panc flare in almost a year ago - then, all of a sudden in July 2017 (when I started the Adequan) I am giving nausea meds, appy simulators - having to encourage to eat, etc.

Sorry it appears to be the Adequan, but it's good you think you figured it out. Is the Adequan for arthritis?

Great that you figured it out
I think I did. Time will tell but it just makes the most sense. His itching started around the same time too. Hopefully in about a week he should be over the nausea and eating issues from the last maintenance dose that was given on 09/29.

Lizzie, hope all continues well and that Giz back in the groove of happy appy and feeling better. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Just curious 'cuz you mentioned itching: am I reading correctly? You think adequan the culprit?

IDK. I am pretty sure it started around the same time. I also stated wholly cow (beef) around the same time as starting the Adequan and originally thought that was the culprit, HOWEVER, I haven't given him any beef in over a month and the itching continues. Hind-sight I sure wish I had documented issues better but I didn't realize they were "issues" KWIM? Everyone (here, vets) assured me that there were no concerns in giving Adequan but friend I was chatting with sent me info and stinging on injection site (itching?), upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea and depression are some of the side effects,

I am going to get him in for BW in the next couple of weeks. He needs a check because the last BW showed a slight anemia issue (sort of), hence the beef. Gizmo's vet office was completely destroyed from Harvey's flood waters and I just found out where his vet is practicing (temporarily) and the times she is there so I can schedule time off now.

I had a nice chat with the owner of the place where I get my Rad Cat. He said some cats will get itchy skin and dandruff from chicken. I have noticed Bronx has more dandruff now and that started about the same time I switched from the Wellness Turkey to Organix Chicken as a supplement to the raw. Just a thought...

But Gizmo has been eating Fowl Ball for almost a year. The only change was the wholly cow (beef) and Adequan. He doesn't have dandruff any more (he did when he was first diagnosed) and his cost is very soft and healthy feeling and looking.

Remember you suggested the beef due to the anemia issue? That was the BW on 07/05 - same time I started the Adequan.

Lizzie, IKYM exactly! Hadn't seen the IKIM acronym before and :bighug:for teaching me that one.:cat::kiss:

I'm in the IDKo_O zone about itching bc Civie Azalea has been going through the itches these past several weeks to the extent of it increasing to severe fur pulling. It's beginning to abate now (thanks in large part due to a constitional homeopathic and energy/muscle testing re foods and supplements) but any kind of mysterious episode is head bangingingly maddening and worrisome. And the process and time and patience pants needed to find solutions equally vexing. So hang in there.

Can Gizmo do raw liver shakes? If beef or calf a dietary culprit, maybe make with pork or chicken? I've read that some schools of thought place muscle meats and organs in separate categories (such as a meat muscle meat sensitivity does not necessarily apply to organ meats but IDK fir sure about that).
I'm thinking of of liver shake in large part bc you mentioned switching to beef bc of giz's anemia. Azalea became anemic during that eye injury episode last year, and the liver shake was the only thing that I could attribute to it getting back in normal range in the weeks, if I'm remembering the whole episode and the blood work timelines correctly, between labs done just after injury and just before surgery.
Proviso being ECID of course.

Here is what Wendy said about the RBC:

and here is what Marje said:

And Marje also added this "
but you must also use a multi B like Jarrows. The B12 alone won't help Keep the anemia at bay.
It only takes a tiny bit of Jarrows....1/2 of 1/10 a cap bid But it is necessary.

So I added the B-complex (B-Right) dosed as per Marje ^^

I really wasn't too concerned after their comments but thought I would add the beef to see if it helped and to give some variety.

That is one reason I want to go ahead and get another round of BW done sooner rather than later. If the suspected anemia continues I will look into liver shake or raw liver.

I wonder if freeze dry beef liver has the same benefits as raw for anemia?

Hi Lizzie, thanks for sharing. Sending vines for good results with the new bloodwork.

Idk if raw freeze dried livers have exactly the same nutrient value as fresh or thawed frozen raw. I do crumble freeze dried raw livers or hearts (sometimes powder up a package or two in a blender) etc as a topper or mix in food. vital essentials is a company that doesn't add anything and packages freeze dried raw chicken or beef livers, hearts and a "giblet" blend.
