Yesterday's condo

After running out to save our glorious leader LagoonMeister Rusty from the sharks, Miss China has had a nice calm day!!

Just paddling along, keeping her eyes on the kitties like a good Deputy LagoonMistress!! I think maybe she's due for a promotion!!

DM is doing well in her new place in Assisted Living....so far she seems to really enjoy having the company of the other residents at meals (and I'm so happy to know she's at least being reminded to eat 3 times a day!!)

They said we could put a small refrigerator and microwave in her room, but I'm going to have to think on that for awhile.....if she has junk, she'll eat junk and not be hungry at regular meal times.

It's going to take a little time for me to adjust too I think....I'm so used to worrying, calling to remind her to eat, worrying if she remembered to actually do it, etc. that I find myself thinking I need to call her all the "usual" times I'd been doing it. I also don't have to worry if she's remembered to take her pills since they give them to her.

Getting a pretty good list of stuff we forgot to take together so I guess I'll be packing some more stuff up tomorrow and getting it over there!

So sorry to hear of Uncle's passing. Our hearts go out to Barbara :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I'm glad she's liking the others. I didn't have that luck with my dgm. She couldn't carry a conversation and neither could the others.
I hope she continues to enjoy other's company.
 
Yo China, You are right. You deserve a promotion. Your work in the lagoon is first rate and tireless. Your new position--and title--is LagoonMeisterin. From now on we will look after the kitties and make decisions about lagoon matters together. A true partnership. Are you ready for that?

Glad to hear you were able to get your mother settled into someplace and she is liking it. That will be a relief!

Glad your mom is doing so well. My mom has been so happy since we moved her from independent to assisted living, even though the front door is locked to prevent wandering! She has Alzheimers, so no microwaves or heating devices were allowed, just in case. It sounds like you made the right decision. :-) :bighug:
 
Chris, are you the one who has the secret to getting gravy alone out of a can of food? I remember reading in someone else's post that "Chris" explained how to do that. I struggle with that when Girlie goes swimming with the sharks... I've tried squishing, but that doesn't seem to work very well - I still get more food than gravy. :-)
