So, as expected, last night Rom was admitted to hospital for fluids for his kidney disease. I have just had an update from the vet:
PMPS 8.6
+4 7.9
AMPS today 4.9
+1 12.8
+4 5.0

He has regained his appetite and polished off his breakfast and 10am feed. He has also put on weight, which is probably the fluids. He is bright and alert and ready for belly rubs all the time. We are still waiting for the urine culture and free T4 test for hyperthyroid, but probably Saturday they will rerun the bloods and think about a CT scan as they can't feel his organs properly and they need to check no foreign body in his eye.

On a positive note, my vet says the whole practice is keeping their eyes on my spreadsheets as they are so stable and they are learning a lot from me - (or really you, but I didn't say where I got my information)!! She also said they have a Lantus vial that I can have as my two cats are the only two in their practice on it and it would only get thrown away otherwise. I said they really should use it more and she agreed with me, but said most people are not dedicated owners and would not test at all. In fact 30-40% of people immediately say "put to sleep" on a diabetes diagnosis. She has even had that request for a broken leg!!

I'm glad Rom is feeling better and eating at the vet. I hope you can get a plan in place to help him. Great that the vet practice is willing to learn about FD. Sending prayers.

Hope Rom comes home soon. Glad to hear he's feeling better.
