I have Cerenia on hand here at home. He gave her a shot of Convenia, an antibiotic. Last time she was sick he also gave her that and she was fine the next day. Hoping...
Thanks, Kathy! Yeah, anything for less stress right now.The advantage of Convenia is that it lasts for about 2 weeks, with just one shot, so it reduces the stress on Kitty and Bean.

Thank you, Darrah. I appreciate your concern and your suggestion of the Fortiflora. I have never used it so I'll see what everyone thinks. Hugs to you and Girlie! I hope she's doing well. I've been so consumed by Callie, I don't even know how everyone else is doing. I hope and pray well.Does anyone know if the Fortiflora works as an appetite stimulant? I don't know, though, if you can get that over the counter or if you have to order it online. I'm just offering this as I've read it in other posts, but go by what more experienced people say.
I really, really feel for you. Thank you for keeping all of us updated even though I know you're focused on and so worried about your kitty. Sending more healing vines for you both....![]()

Just focus on yourself and your kitty - that's what's most important right now!Just focus on yourself and your kitty - that's what's most important right now!
That's sweet, Darrah.I think most appetite stimulants are by prescription. I know of Mirtz and Cypro something long. Fortiflora is a probiotic not an appetite stimulant. However, it does tempt some cats to eat. You don't need a prescription for it. Sending prayers.I asked about an appy stimulant, but there was lots going on, and we didn't get to it. That was really stupid of me. Does anyone know if there's anything over the counter to use? Is the Mirtazapine over the counter?

Thanks, Carla. I think I'm going to forego the appy stims right now unless it is the Fortiflora. As always, I really appreciate your prayers. I used Fortiflora as an appetite encouragement with Gizmo. I just sprinkled a little bit on top if the food (not the entire packet). It smells like beef bullion to me. It worked most of the time to get him to eat.
Need to get the vomiting under control. Cerenia for the vomiting and Ondansteron for the nausea (about 30-60 min apart). Also need to get some pain meds. I add Canna Companion which seems to really help with all the symptoms. Once the vomitting and nausea is under control you could introduce appy stimulants if needed but you dont want to add the appy stim. until she isn't throwing up.

Thanks, Djamila! I'll check into it. Thanks for the healing and appy vines to Callie. Here is a link to the fortiflora:

Depending on where you live, you might be able to get same day delivery. It's also sold in a lot of vet offices, so you might call around. I've never found it in a retail store, but that might just be around here. Sending healing and appetite vines to Callie![]()

I think it is ok - I think why it is advised to do it 30 min apart was so the Cerenia (vomitting med) can start working before the Ondansteron is administers so kitty won't throw it up.Oops! I just gave her both of the nausea/vomiting meds at the same time.
Thanks, Lizzie! I'll be sure to do it that way next time. The Ondansteron must taste terrible by the way Callie reacted, but she's keeping 27cc of food slurry down, fingers, toes, and paws crossed. Thanks for the site. I'll be sure to look into it. For the fortiflora you can search here for a "clinic" that may have it (by zip code).

Boy, oh boy, isn't that the truth?! They do seem to run to carpet to barf, don't they?I'm going to channel @Beenie here and put a funny picture up. I found this the other day and thought it might bring a smile to your face even though you're dealing with "pukas." Sending more hugs and healing vines! I think you're doing really well even though I hear how hard this is for you and dear Callie...

Thanks, Darrah!
.Thanks so much! We need them! Hugs!Sending more healing vines and.
How about just plain chicken? When Taffy was very sick w/panc issues, I gently cook some chicken thighs and then put in blender with the liquid and puree into, basically, baby food. And he only will eat off of a spoon when he is sicky. To me, the liver seems awful rich for an upset tummy. I stick to as plain as possible when panc flares up and B vitamins! B12 and B complex injections, if possible. So today I took Callie back to the vet. He gave her more subQ fluid, a shot of Ondanestron for the nausea and vomiting, and Bupe for pain. He gave me a few syringes of both to use at home--I think enough for 1 or 2 days. He said I could get more as needed which I really appreciated.
I'm not sure what to do now or what to expect. I think I was expecting that she would eat this evening, but so far nothing. I've tried several things, but she would take nothing. I did syringe in 10cc of chicken bone broth, but I don't know what else to do. How much of the chicken bone broth can I give her? Should I try the liver drink again? I did cook the liver and made a new batch since she had vomited it three times. I can't give her insulin since she's not eating.
I asked about an appy stimulant, but there was lots going on, and we didn't get to it. That was really stupid of me. Does anyone know if there's anything over the counter to use? Is the Mirtazapine over the counter?
He's going to call me tomorrow about the pancreatitis test results.
