We have been struggling with numbers and dosage changes for months. He became hypoglycemic 2 weeks ago and they changed him from 5units of insulin to 2 a day. The last 2days he's been very lethargic. I'm exausted and running out of ideas and money.
I'm not sure what to think as they were hoping he was going into remission. Any ideas?

We can help. Please let us know:
  1. what insulin you use
  2. what food he eats
  3. when your kitty was diagnosed and the history of dose changes in that time
  4. whether you test blood glucose at home and if so what meter you use
  5. whether all curves have been done by the vet clinic ($$$).
Getting a cat regulated can take a long time, let alone achieving remission. Many cats don't get there but can have their blood glucose brought under good control. That's why FDMB exists - to teach caregivers how to take control of their kitty's diabetes treatment by testing at home. It's the very best way to avoid complications like hypoglycemia or diabetic ketoacidosis. If you're willing to take this bul by the horns we can help you save money and also get your kitty feeling better.

Re the last two days: is he eating? Lethargy can be caused by high BG or other issues.
