Haven't posted since things have been pretty uneventful for Mr. Zeke. He has been holding pretty steady in the upper yellows for the most part. Planning on giving through tomorrow to give a full 9 cycles before considering a dose change since we did have a skipped shot and then a couple 18 hour cycles.

My question though is should we increase back to the 2.5u or go down to 2u? Unless he decides to show us some action in the next few cycles, it was only within the first few days of this dose that we got greens. I am inclined to think go back to the 2u dose since we have seemed to be on a downward path with his dosing.

Forgot to add, hopefully today he won't decide to go crazy on us. He likes to jerk his head at times during testing and at his PM +8 he did and it ripped the edge of his ear. :( Since he has been doing good, testing as little as possible today unless I see something that warrants otherwise.

18 hour dosing can disrupt momentum and looks like Zeke dose need to go back to the 2.5u tomorrow unless you see green today. Keeping him in those yellow/ pinks to long can create Glucose Toxicity and the need to go up in dose before coming back down. I know it's scary to go back to a dose where they went too low but it's also common.

I did a quick read over that and that makes some sense. So you think go ahead and up him tomorrow? Not Friday?

If it were me I'd probably take him up tomorrow unless you see blue/green but waiting until Friday is fine too.

Ok, I was thinking needed to wait til Friday to give the depot time to get back to where it needs, or with him doing so steady on his numbers meaning that is all back to normal? He really hasn't been wonky with his numbers lately. "knock on wood" Usually it is his 7th cycle where he goes crazy on after any changes, which that would be tonight. So guess we can play it by ear and see how he does tonight.

With TR, anytime there's a disruption in the cycle (skipped/fur shot, 18-hr cycles, etc.) you need to wait 6 cycles to replenish the depot. If numbers continue the same way, if it were me, I'd increase the dose.

Ok, thanks. Wasn't sure how long it took to replenish it, which was why I was looking at Friday. But if 6 cycles is enough, will definitely remember that. There will be another weekend at the end of this month that we will be doing another couple 18 hour cycles.

Well, Zeke heard us talking rofl.

PMPS 82

That was actually the average of 3 tests. When first tested, it was 65, second test was 86. Since such a difference, did a 3rd test and it came out 95.

We are definitely bouncing today. We almost hit 400 last night. His AMPS was 320 so hopefully we are heading back down this cycle. If we can just get him used to the lower numbers enough that he will quit this blasted bouncing would be freaken nice. At least his bounces do seem to be shortening. Considering too much insulin can act like not enough, makes some of this so confusing. At least we have finally found his magic number though for when he decides to get active lol. Seems to never fail, the 7th cycle is the one he loves to go crazy on, so no matter how his ps and +2 are for the 6th cycle, I need to test more like for a wonky cycle so I can be more prepared for his 7th one. Even with our dramatic little Zeke, we are starting to see some organization to this chaos. Baby steps!
