Stall and do not feed for 20 minutes and test again. Do not feed unless. Hopefully someone with dosing advice will come along soon (I rarely give shooting advice, and have no personal experience with a high dose). If you have to delay a lot, will it throw off your shooting schedule?

I can delay an hour (if Gizmo doesn't eat me). He's not a happy camper right now. I am stalling. Retest in about 5 minutes.

OK, that's fine. Could be lack of food too. You have two options, keep waiting or skip tonight. You could give him a little LC now, a couple tsps. If you wait, test again in 20-30 and wait to see if he starts rising a lot, in which case you can shoot if it's before your cutoff.

He's up to 81, but I'm still worried. Could I give a half dose?

We don't usually delay and shoot a short shot, cause a delay acts like a bit of a reduction. But given you are trying to drain the depot, it's OK.

Keep your subject line up to date and I'd get a +1 and a +2.
Ok, so between the kids first day back to school, which equals a million things to do tonight. Then Gizmo pulls this stunt. And on top of all that my husband shows up (at the same time as Gizmo's drama) with two burnt fingers. He is fine, but holly crap ... I need a break.

I spoke with Gizmo's vet office (just a vet tech) and was told as long as Gizmo is eating to shoot the insulin, but the vet was worried about him being at 74 earlier last week. So I found that information a bit contradicting. :blackeye:

So I didn't get a +1 because of everything happening tonight and I didn't think to get one. I'll get a plus 2 in about 15 minutes. So, since he dropped to 67 (retested at 72) and then later dropped to 65 ... does that earn a reduction to 7.5? Or is this still the 9 unit depot talking? Gizmo just really seems to be working the juice extra good lately, so I'm not sure what is going to happen anymore. What dose do I give in the morning? I thought I had a pretty good handle on all of this, but I am so confused right now. :cat:

I fed him 1/4 can soulistic chicken and 1/4 can Friskies mixed grilled. We are in the process of switching him to the soulistic. That was his pm shot feeding - 1 hour 55 minutes ago.

Glad to see Gizmo is on the rise. :)
Me too. Just hoping it's not to high since I chickened out and only shot 5 units. Oh well. I couldn't really chance having to take him to an er vet tonight (I always think worse case senario) and monitoring will be limited to just a few checks tomorrow. So those weighed heavily on my mind. Hope Beenie is doing alright. Saw the 911, but haven't had a chance to get caught up yet. I have to pay some bills and then it's time to catch up on kitty drama from today. Lol

I would go to 7.5. The depot drainer should have helped get rid of the 9.0 unit dose. Limited monitoring tomorrow is also a factor.

Hope you catch a break tonight.:bighug:
