We think we may have discovered why Lila was unwell with diarrhea last weekend. We have discovered a toad living by the house. Lila was "hunting" in that area the day before she was poorly. We saw her pounce on something in the undergrowth but didn't think anymore about it till we discovered resident toad. Does anyone have any toad poisoning knowledge? Lila much better now.

I don't have much knowledge but I do know that toads can excrete a poisonous substance from their skin when threatened or attacked. I'm not sure how toxic it is.

Yes seems like it can make cats quite unwell with vomiting and seizures. It doesn't mention diarrhea though, but presume it's a possibility as it made its way through her body.

 First I've heard of anything like this! Hope kitty is back to normal.
I do know they excrete a toxin but not sure of the effect on cats.

I have some little tree toads in my back yard sometimes. I guess I'll keep an eye out as to what Leo is catching. Usually he only gets the lizards, but this is good to know just in case.
