Squallie is happy and purry today, although he's not liking the many ear pokes of the curve. He ate really well, always a huge plus. I really am thinking he needs to go back to his old dose, he's definitely running higher on this dose, and it feels to me like it's continuing to creep ever so slightly higher almost daily.:(

Thanks for the feel-better vines for my migraine, it is better today.

Prayers and healing vines to all who need them.

I think Squallie is looking really good. I guess it depends on where you want his nadirs to be as to whether you increase the dose. If you want nadirs in the 50s and 60s, you could bump his dose up a little bit since you monitor so much. However, he did reach 65 yesterday and 63 on the 26th.

I'm glad your migraine is better today. I hope it goes away completely soon. Sending prayers.

Lucy, looking at Squallies' SS, I honestly don't see a reason to increase at this time. His nadirs are really right where you'd want them, and although his PS numbers are blue, they are low blue. Of, course, you have a lot of experience and data and you know your cat, but if he were mine, I'll hold a while longer. Just my opinion.

What worries me, Tricia, is his history of inching upwards slowly, until I end up chasing after his bg numbers. I hoped that fattening up the current dose would help but it doesn't seem to have done anything. :( This is the first time since he's been on Lantus that I have actually seen the dreaded "Numbers Creep" (although I'm always on the lookout for it, I'm paranoid about it, I know). It used to happen all the time when he was on Vetsulin, and once it reaches a certain point it's extremely difficult to get him back down in better numbers. He's been doing so well, I don't want to have it all spin out of control again. :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

I can appreciate that, Lucy. As I said, you know your cat. You monitor him closely, so if you feel he needs an increase, you should take it. He'll let you know soon enough if it's too much.

Lucy, so sorry you had a migraine. It was good Squallie didn't go swimming with the sharks while you were under the weather - well behaved kitty you have there.
Have a great day
