Just a quick comment about starting Levemir from your condo yesterday. Post before you start and ask for dosing advise. My Doodles was on 12u of Lantus and I was giving R about 3 times a day. When we switched to Levemir on 4/17/2016 the starting dose was 10u. You can peak at his SS and see his response just for reference, not to copy of course. Note, he was IAA only, not Acro.

Below are some other kitties that switched from Lantus to Levemir thanks to @Wendy&Neko . This can be found in the Where Can I Find under the Switching from Lantus to Levemir, Doodles, advise before switching post #25. Some are Acro only, IAA only, or had suspected/ both IAA & Acro. ECID of course but it did help me to have some examples when we switched.

Here are some SS of cats with high dose conditions that switched from Lantus to Lev.
Ozy - switched 12/21/13 to a reduced dose and ended up on the same Lev dose before getting green. Ozy had just IAA.
Cobb - switched 8/6/14 to a reduced Lev dose, waa using R too. Saw a little bit of green initially then had to increase just a bit, then the IAA broke. Never hit the Lantus dose when using Levemir. The switch was done over a year after diagnosis - were the antibodies done anyway? Cobb was IAA confirmed and suspected acro though not tested.
Cyrstal - switched 1/27/15 to Lev at a reduced dose and ended up going a lot higher. R use started later. Acromegaly confirmed, IAA suspected but she couldn't get the test in Europe.
Leo - switched 4/10/12 to just 10% less Lev than the Lantus dose. Ended up going a lot higher. Leo was confirmed acromegaly and not tested for IAA - though I rather suspect it now.
Tiggy - switched 6/24/14 to 10% less but almost immediatly had to drop the dose to 1/2 the Lantus dose. Tiggy was acromegaly only.
Neko switched 9/10/13 - but we were "micro dosing" at that point. IAA was broken, we started at 70% and ended up at almost the same dose as the Lantus dose.
Neko's 2016 SS SS has tab w/links to older SS, Neko was an acrocat, do not copy dosing
Neko's Profile FD Dx Dec 2011; IAA and Acromegaly Dx July 2012, SRT completed August 9/12 and again Nov 18/15, CKD 2015, 2nd degree heart block and IBD/lymphoma May 26/2016, transient HCM/CHF (reversible myocarditis) May 30/2016, CHF, chest taps for fluid and air November 2016, GA 12/6/16
Caninsulin for 2 months, Lantus/TR to Sept 2013, then Levemir/TR

@Sandy and Black Kitty think I can increase R to 1 tonight? +6 is 295 - not sure how much lower he'll go today.

Or give .5 at his +8 when the Lantus starts to wear off?
Although I like the idea of the .5u at +8, since you are building knowledge of Jimmy and R I would let this cycle play out fully and see where he lands at PMPS. If he is above 300 give 1uR with the PM Lantus.

PMPS=349 >>> 14uL/1uR
+1=328
+2=308

Will the +3 be lower, higher or nearly the same?
(looking for my Magic 8 ball...it's around here somewhere...)
He's chugging on down - (if ONLY we had a Magic 8 ball). Seems pretty steady so far...onset with Lantus for him is usually around +3 - so let's see what +4 brings - ohhhh the mystery of Jimmy the big black kitty.

Wow - I've been skipping around searching around like Scooby Doo for SS like this and other R using kittehs. Thanks for all this - all in 1 place!! Nice.

He's doing really well - seems he's sliding down slow and steady. He's alert and chasing his sister around, running up and down the stairs...looking out the window for his girlfriend (our neighbor's kitty) who does walkabouts at night.

He's been hungry - because I've been holding back food (giving him half ounces every hour so he comes down for testing). At +6 I will give him 1.5 ounces, fill his belly, and call it a night for testing.

What are your thoughts for the morning dose(s)?

Nice droppage. Just under 100 points, so not too much.

Another Lantus to Lev SS.
Bronx,also using R, switched 1/1/17
I know - he's one cool dood...sliding down the scale. So suave.

Not on Lev yet though - I ordered it tonight (expedited shipping). I can imagine he'll only do better with a longer lasting insulin.

I would
Grab a +6 (or later) tonight to see what the Lantus is doing for its segment of the relay.

For tomorrow AM cycle my recommendation is that unless he shows up on the 4th floor, skip the R and see what the 14u Lantus is doing on its own. It will be the 3rd cycle of 14u and it may start showing some action, action that , if combined with R may result in too fast/deep of a drop and trigger a bounce, which is something you don't want. If he does show up in red, try 0.5uR and see if it takes the edge off the bounce.
