Looking for some ideas as to what may be the problem, please. Lila has developed diarrhea (very pale, strange consistency) in the last 12 hours and bg also went very low during the night (3.2). Her appetite has decreased but she is still eating. Have contacted vet and will be calling back soon to arrange to take her in to be checked today, wondering what others may think could be the problem? Have not managed to get ketone test yet and I don't think she has urinated for several hours. Any suggestions of what we need to ask to be checked gratefully received unfortunately our regular vet has just left and it's bank holiday of course! Could it be pancreatitis? Or is her body reacting to what may be becoming an insulin dose that is now too high.?

Could be a lot of things. Did you recently change foods?
No she has been on Lilys Kitchen chicken dinner for at least 6 months now, never varies, same feed times and quantities. Always clears dish, no obvious food issues at all. Hot weather is the only variable at the moment that we can think of. She has been very bright ( for her age) until last 12 hours really.

If her bowel movements are very pale I would ask the vet to check her liver function. You may already be at the vet by now though.

If your thinking pancreatitis, have vet run the test. In office it's called a SNAP it only gives positive or negative but better than nothing.

Did wonder about pancreatitis. Vet did not suggest any tests though! Would symptom be diarrhea? She hasn't vomited and does not seem to be in pain.

It could be. The saying goes ECID. Smokey had wet, grey, greasy looking, very smelly stool. Appetite was great. Vomited (clear foam) once a day. Vet said he didn't have it. I said humor me, run the test. While waiting for results to come back we did ultrasound, it was positive. Vet was surprised when blood test came back positive also. Some cats just have nausea or loss of appetite. They can have one or all symptoms to any degree.

Yes see what you mean. Is it usually acute or chronic pancreatitis in cats.? Our boxer has chronic and symptoms that are probably quite peculiar to her. Lila's stools have been quite strange in just the last 24 hrs, pale and difficult to clean off the litter scoop and quite a strange consistency and smell. Also when she first went on insulin a year ago nearly she had pale stool for first day or two which if I remember right was quite similar to todays although was not loose. Vet at time said maybe pancreas reacting to insulin introduction. So we wonder if this is linked to insulin production by her pancreas possibly as her need for insulin is gradually reducing it seems.

I agree 100% on ECID. My civvie Tanner lost 1.75 pounds over the past year. That was his only symptom. His PLI test from TAMU just came back positive for pancreatitis.
