does anyone gave any info on Nutro natural choice food? It is listed on Dr. Lisa's chart, but there are no numbers in the columns. From my calculations and correspondence with the company, it is very low carb, but since Rex has also recently been diagnosed with ckd, I need info on phosphorus. The company hasn't given me much on that. Or how can I calculate myself? It took so long to find a food he liked and would eat and was low carb, etc., I am really hoping it is low phosphorus as well, but am not holding my breath.

Also still looking for ANY advice on how to deal with both of these conditions simultaneously.

I feed my cats Nutro grain free canned soft loaf and chunky loaf (adult turkey/chicken, kitten chicken). I inquired about % carb and was told on the phone the carb content is between 1-3%. These numbers are probably based on their GA not As Fed. However, the ingredient list does not contain things like potato or other starches which may be found in other grain free products. This is the only brand my picky cats will eat currently. I don't know about the phosphorous content though.

thank you for the reply. after much struggle, I finally found something my picky boy would eat too. I looked at every cat food I could find and every ingredient and you are right, this one has none of the carb ingredients. I did call the company and they said it was pretty close to 0 carbs. I also figured on a few different carb calculators I found online and it said the same. it seems to be doing the trick since there are many nights where Rex doesn't need his shot because his numbers are in the normal range. however, now with this CKD diagnosis, I need to find out about the phosphorus content. I am having A LOT of trouble in that area. I don't know how to calculate on my own or what to look for in the ingredients or the info given on the can. nobody on this site seems to have any info either, and for whatever reason the food is listed on Dr. Lisa's chart, but there is no info filled in.

If you ever want to try raw, RadCat food is very low carb & low phosphorus. Bronx likes it a lot too which is the most important thing.

You should definitely call back and ask for phosphorous info. Nutro seems to be responsive.
