Wow, been dealing with some rough numbers with Willow for the past few days. Last night I was up most of the night because my gut was scarming there was going to be a problem and once again it was right!
Two days ago I skipped her shot because of her numbers, she went from green to pink 345bg for her pmps that night due to the skip.
I went ahead and gave her 1 iu at her pmps thinking she should be yellow or blue for her amps. I wake up at her pmps +10 she is 83bg. That's a huge drop! She was hungry and ate. Her amps that morning was 94bg so I went ahead with a reduced shot to .50iu and by her +7 she was at 31bg. Something to note, ants got into her food and her bowl was full of ants! I gave her chicken and she would not eat. I then switched to fish and she ate some. By her pmps she was 154bg. I stayed with the reduced amount of .50iu and checked her at +2 177bg. My gut said check her again before you go to sleep. She was 125@+4 and this number could become a major problem later on during the night. 89@+6, 77@+8 and 55@+9 time for gravy food. She started to dry vomit and only a white pasty stuff came up, this happens to her when her stomach is empty. I gave her her chick food and she would not eat, plan B, I gave her a whole can of chicken gravy at +9 she did not eat much. This morning I was expecting yellow or above and her amps 154bg. I gave her chicken again and she would not eat it, went with gravy chicken, she ate some and went back for a little more. I went with .50S iu.


Thoughts?
Advise?
I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow morning. My wife is not on this the way I am.

Wow - Willow is keeping you busy. Will your wife be the one to test and shoot while you are on vacation? With Willow's history of ketones, I wouldn't skip any shots. But 0.25u is hard to measure ... I hope some pros will pop in and give you more suggestions. :bighug:
 
Wow Willow is really keeping you on your toes. Maybe you can have your wife shoot 0.25 units to keep Willow safe while you're on vacation. Hopefully the lower shots will have helped drain the depot and she won't go as low.
 
I agree with Carla keep it on the safe side miss Willow throws low numbers too quickly!!!!
How long will you be gone?
Have you tried Krill oil drizzled on her food ? I drizzle one capsule daily on Fritz food. I buy Captains Krill oil. I have found this to be the best safest brand.

Hi everyone

I'll be gone until Sunday night,

Right now she is surfing safe in the blue lagoon, however her +4 is lower than her amps so her numbers could still dump later today.
My wife will do her best while I'm gone, she is not really on this like me.
Willow is not eating the same amount of food like she use to. She is eating 1/4-1/2 of her normal amount.
 
From the pics you have posted in the past, we all know Willow loves your wife! Just a couple of suggestions if you haven't thought of them yet:
- Can you prioritize foods so that your wife knows where to go if she has trouble eating? (make sure she knows current favorites).
- Will she be posting if she needs help? - Might be good to leave login details for a support system.
- Like Apple mentioned before, I think Willow knows you are leaving. Might be good to reinforce you are coming back (my trick is a tee shirt I have slept in left in the middle of the floor). Something of yours / personal that she knows you will come back for. She is clearly attached to you and might be insecure about you being gone.

Hope you are able to enjoy some vacation time and Willow stays safe and happy while you are away.

Thank you for the advise.
I have everything ready for my wife.
It's one of two things, either she is not eating the same amount of food as before or her pancreas maybe kicking back into gear. I noticed when she stayed in blue/green she ate less food. This morning I gave her a whole can of HC gravy food and she ate a little, prior she would finish the whole can

Willow loves me like no other. No matter where I am in our home she has to be right next to me. If she hears me downstairs she will Merow calling for me. The funny part is I respond with Willow I'm down here and she will keep merowing for me to come to her. Come to think of it, who is in charge of this relationship?

Well she surfed safely all day, went to the .25iu and see how she does tonight.
I'll be giving her her amps before I leave and will be checking on her tonight before bed
