Just thought I'd double check re: dosing:
  • Girlie has started her 5th full day of her increased dose at 0.75 today.
  • She went under 100 and green on day 3 (17 Aug: 95 @ +3) and day 4 (19 Aug: AMPS 74 & +3 95); on day 4 her AMPS was really low (74), but I stalled and shot anyway (BOS happy dance :D )
  • She bounced to black at the end of day 4 and is still there this morning.
The sticky says "when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing", but she's bouncing in black (I think?) because of a) those low drops and b) the delayed dose yesterday because her AMPS was so low (74). So do I hold the dose for a few days to see how her bounce breaks or do I increase by 0.25?

Just not sure where to go with her because of those greens and then the blacks. @Wendy&Neko , what do you think?

Ask yourself "how low does this dose take my kitty". Try to ignore the high numbers. Nadirs in the 70's are pretty good and don't leave a lot of room for an increase. Let's see where she is when she tires of this bounce.

Okay - I'll go with that - thanks, Wendy.
I'm trying to move her back to her earlier time by doing a 15 min earlier shot each cycle. Is that okay, or should I try to wait on that for a few days? I assumed (perhaps incorrectly?) that I needed to make her PM shot at 8 pm as I'd stalled the AM shot until 8 am: not sure whether that was the right thing to do or whether I should have gone back to her earlier time of 7 pm. Did I do the right thing by making her pm shot yesterday 12 hours after the stalled am shot? Interesting to know for future reference... :)

When she is black, feel free to move her up by 1/2 hour. In general, you can move the shot up by 15 minutes a cycle or 1/2 hour once a day. But if they are really high, you can move a bit faster. Post first before doing so though.

Typical +3 dive
AMPS = 580
+1 = 547
+2 = 383
+3 = 169

So that's a 411 point drop from her AMPS and a 214 drop from an hour ago.

Brekkie was Holistic Select LC 8 food. I might try a tsp of MC food - or should I just let her ride this out and see where it takes her? Girlie - never boring... :-)

Thanks, Wendy. I moved her up 15 minutes this morning. Should I leave it at that today and move her up a 1/2 hour tomorrow morning? She's just dived to blue, so we'll see where she goes next...

As long as she's not too low this evening, you can move her up an additional 15 minutes. On the bright side, she's clearing bounces quickly. I might have tried some higher LC or low MC at +2 and +3 to try to slow the rapid drop. Which will no doubt cause another bounce.

Good tips. She's now 115 @ +4. She had LC at +1.5 and +2, and I have her low MC at +3, but she still dropped at +4. I have to get to the shops to get some higher LC; maybe later this afternoon if she stops dropping.

What would be too low to move up an additional 15 min, do you think?

Bouncy baby...thank goodness she doesn't mind the tests. She's a sweet, accepting girl.

If she's green I wouldn't move up the extra 15 minutes, otherwise you are OK. I moved Neko up 15 minutes when she was green, but it was easier with Levemir.

Girlie, the diving competitions are over for the year.
We are now having a competition for the straightest line in the SS. :cat:
Would you like to enter that competition?;)
From your lips to her ears! I'm just hoping she doesn't bump back up to black by +9 and the evening...fingers crossed. No going near the trampoline or the diving board...come on, Girlie - make my day! :)

Oh my goodness, Bron - she's going for it! 131 at +9! Steady on, Girlie, steady on...you can do it...

Those are beautiful healing numbers, the more time she spends in blues and greens, hopefully will mean less bouncing as her pancreas heals :)

Oh my goodness: she's dropped to 117 at AM+11 - this is amazing. I wonder if this means that I'm going to have a long night ahead of me? I'll need to make sure to get a PM+4 at least. Still, a joyous day, baby Girl - let's just keep it like this so you can heal like Nat said! :joyful::joyful::joyful:
