Food Regression?

It seems that Oliver isn't eating as well, but he is still waking us up meowing that he's hungry. We switched to 1/2 can wet food at feeding times when we started insulin and he really hasn't had any issues finishing his bowel in order for me to give his shots. Last night and this morning hads been a struggle. We've tried different flavors in the event he didn't like what we gave him and it doesn't seem to be helping. I've also noticed he isn't finishing his dry food that he has to graze on. Could it be he just doesn't need as much now? It's only been 2 weeks so I find it hard to believe. I was going to do a mini curve today, but after three failed attempts I could waste anymore strips. Any thoughts. I don't have my spreadsheet attached yet, but Thursday 4 hrs after a meal we were at 280 which is down about 100 from DX and we have upped his dose to 1.5 after a week at 1.0 with no noticeable difference in drinking.

Unfortunately, the only good way to know what's going on with his BG and whether a dose is working well is by testing routinely. It gets much easier with practice so I'd encourage you to persist with it. Setting up the spreadsheet we use here and logging any/all data you have on it would allow us to give you better advice.

Many people who struggle with testing at first and who might also be reluctant to use the spreadsheet find that both things are extremely valuable, once they get over their anxiety and frustration. We've had some great posts from newbies to that effect.

Sometimes this will happen if they feel nauseous. Is he licking his lips? Has he had any episodes of pancreatitis in the past? Nausea and no appetite can be symptoms.

He licks his lips after he eats, but that's normal. He hasn't vomited really at all besides an occasional hairball. He is still lethargic, but that's in spurts like it's been since the beginning. We will test again at the 4-6 HR after Mark to see if we are on track and then again before dinner.
