Little bit nervous but hoping for a healthier cat after all is said and done.
I was told I could feed Roo a little bit in the morning and give her a 1/2 a dose before bringing her in.
Does this sound about right?

Wish us luck! I'll be happy when she is home, safe and sound!

Different vets have different instructions

I think most of us skip the morning shot and don't feed, but some vets want them to eat 1/2 portions and get a 1/2 dose.....it can also matter when the dental is scheduled....early in the day or later

I'd make sure they test her while she's there though....anesthesia can cause the blood glucose to drop

uggg... it's always so difficult to go against the vet's decisions... should I skip it the 1/2 dose and small amount of wet?

Didn't know that about anesthesia... so will prob go up with initial stress then down low with anesthesia..

Good luck with the dental! I'm sure it will go well and Roo will feel so much better afterwards. :bighug:

Thanks for all the love for Little Roo :) Little Roo had two upper back teeth extracted (ouch!) and a cleaning. She's on antibiotics and pain meds but boy is she happy to be home! She growled at the vet when she put her in the carrier -which I can't believe lol as I've never in my life ever heard her growl - but with all that poking, prodding and trauma, we'll let it slide. Vet also said she hid under the blanket all afternoon. Poor girl. We're slowly back to eating and ProZinc. Hoping to see some lower numbers in out future, fingers crossed :)

I'm so happy to hear little Roo is home and her kitty parent can relax a little now! :bighug: Wishing you a speedy recovery! :cat:

Dentals are always nerve wracking when there's other things going on with our kitty. My Leo just had his done along with a skin lesion removal. Since he's in remission I was really nervous about anything bringing him out of the remission. His BG did spike a little afterward but came down again on it's own so I'm grateful. Happy to hear Roo is home (with a few less teeth) and recovering from the trauma.
