I had reported that Chase was sneezing... especially when he had his face in his food. Well this morning I noticed that his poor little nose is raw on one side. Irritating an already sore nose can make you sneeze, so I think that's why he does it the most when his nose hits his food.

I've had people say they give their cats Zyrtec. Can I get the generic version and do they come in different strengths? I'm going to have to give the poor guy something. I wish he could just be free of all this nuisance stuff. It seems like if it's not one thing, it's another. :( Oh well... I'm just glad he has a momma who loves enough to be concerned about everything he has going on with him. :)

Happy Wednesday, everyone! :D

I don't know about Zytec and kitties, but I know it sure helps my kids. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will pop on, Sandi. Poor little guy. Those allergies are miserable. Yep, he's blessed with a momma who is taking good care of him. :bighug:

Thanks, Glennie. I think someone already posted the dose. I'm interested in finding out if I can give him a generic. I'm sure I can, but just as sure as I don't ask, I'll get something wrong. LOL. ALL of our furbabies, here, have such great parents. :) Have a great day. :bighug:

My kids do take the generic and since it has all of the same ingredients, it works the same. I would think it would be fine, but I'm not sure. Hope you get it figured out and hope it works well for Chase. Poor little raw nose! You have a great day also. :) :cat:

I buy the generic for my cats. I use the 10 mg. tablets. I don't know if it comes in any other sizes. I cut mine into quarters, but I've seen other people give half a tablet. Sending prayers Chase's nose heals quickly. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

ETA: I was told by my vet I could give it every 12 hours if needed.

Poor Chase...is been through the ringer.

Would your vet answer the Zyrtec question without taking him if you give her a call? I always prefer to clear meds with a vet (even OTC meds), just in case....

Praying he feels better once and for all....

I've only ever used Benadryl for sneezing in kitties or puppies. I'd double check with a Vet for proper dosage for Chase though :). The sneezy fits are cute but I feel bad when my boy has it too. :cat:
