Yikes!!! He's throwing those mid morning low numbers, again. He's had a few low numbers since getting sick. I guess that's normal. I didn't leave his MC out today because I was coming home before he would normally get it. I think I'd better start leaving a little out when I leave, to try and even him out. This Sunday I'm doing a CURVE. I will be gone to go to church. Other than that, I'll stay home. I need to get a better idea of what he's doing.

Chase is more playful than ever. Maybe he's been dealing with some pancreatitis for some time, and this is just when the breaking point happened. It's hard to tell. Of course... I know when I'm sick, and then feel better, that I'm more playful than ever, too. LOL

Aaawww. That is such good news. Doesn't it make you feel better when they feel better!

Preventative actions going forward. It is a guessing game but treat if there is a question about how he is feeling. Cannabis (Canna Campanion and/or CDB oil) is a great option. I like it because it can be added to the food with no adverse side effects and it helps with the pain/discomfort and appetite. Slippery Elm Bark or Marshmallow root for stomach acid and constipation issues as maintenance.

Just some suggestions. I am so happy Chase is doing better. :bighug:

Thank you, so much, for the suggestions. Yes... now that he is feeling better... so am I. And I'm even fighting a nasty cold. Nothing could keep me from smiling today, though. :):)

Hi Sandi,

I thought I would answer some questions you asked at the end of yesterday's condo here.

What do you mean by "long term diabetic"?
A long term diabetic is one that has been in treatment for over a year. It is usually much harder to achieve remission a second time, so we often treat cats that go back on insulin more like a long term diabetic, even if they are less than a year since diagnosis. But ECID and you have to take everything into consideration. If the p-titis is what brought Chase out of remission, resolving it could make it much easier to get him back OTJ. Essentially, it's up to you to decide which reduction point you want to follow, if doing TR. If you are doing SLGS this time around, then you would reduce for anything under 90, regardless.

I've always given him his shot AS he's eating his first meal.
This is what we did with Cinco for most of the time, because he always ate anything put in front of him. As he got sicker toward the end, we waited to be sure he'd actually eaten a couple of bites before shooting, as a few times he just licked or sniffed it and turned away. Same with Harvey. With P-titis in the picture, you may have to modify slightly with Chase, to be sure he is actually eating before shooting.

I am so happy to see that he is feeling better!! Nothing makes a bean happier than to see her kitty playing after being ill for a while! You go, Chase! Nice numbers, too, although I know they make you nervous. :D

Seems as though Chase is no longer interested in eating. I'm having to force feed him just so that I can give him insulin. I don't understand what happened. :(
