Hello L and L! It's been a while since we posted. Bubba has been creeping up into the low to under 120's since about 7.21. He had a vet visit yesterday and had BW done. Every thing came back good, no sugar in the urine, and his BG was 178 which is a little over the high end of normal and with vetty stress the Doc seems to think he doing good, liver enzymes good, thyroid function is a little on the low side, we are watching that as it was the same a year ago and white blood cell is a little on the low end of normal but about the same from a year ago. Doc isn't concerned at this time.

Clinical exam show some mild gingivitis which could very well be the cause of the rising numbers. So, tomorrow he is getting a dental. It is one month shy of a year cleaning but, since last Sept he was knocked out of remission the first time, I am trying to be proactive.

Please cross fingers and paws for his anesthesia as it is always a concerned with our babies (us too for that matter) I will post later tomorrow after he is home again.

Oh,Bobbie , praying total success and lowered BGs over sweet Bubba . Know my heart is with you and Bubba as he goes tomorrow . Be at peace that all will be well.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending big jungle vines for Bubba's dental!!

It's great that you can get him in so quickly....even if I could have afforded it, it was going to be 2 weeks before I could get China scheduled....I'm just hoping to get her in before they require that I repeat the bloodwork!!

My vet practice is pretty good with getting them in ASAP. I think when I scheduled the appointment for the BW and check up , I got it within a week of calling and I schedule the dental for two days later.

We will be putting this visit ( and Forrest has a dental 2 weeks from tomorrow  both on Care Credit. I don't know what I'd do with out it.

Sending lots of dental vines! Does your vet do something for pet dental health month too? My vet gives 10% off the dental, pre-surgical bloodwork, x-rays, etc. in August (and February). And they send home a goody bag with treats, dental chews (which my dogs love) and a toothbrush.

Good for you for being proactive!
Will be thinking of you and Bubba tomorrow. Will look for an update.
Good luck!

Thinking of you and praying. Fingers and paws crossed also. Hoping to hear good news when he's home. Hugs to you!

Adding to the bushelsful of good dental vines for Bubba today and for Forrest whose fun day at the dentist is in a couple of weeks. :bighug:❤:bighug::D:bighug::D:bighug:❤:bighug:

Bubba is home post dental 5.5 hours after I dropped him off. All that was required was a cleaning! Yeah! He wanted to eat ASAP and we're not supposed to do that........but after 20 minutes of being home and finally walking a straight line and then jumping up on top of the cat buffet, I caved in and gave him 1.5 ounces of food. He is presently laying under the buffet waiting for more.

Let's hope the dental helps to bring his numbers down under 100. At the vets today right before the procedure he measured 280 but the vet said he see un diabetic cats that high with "white coat " stress. I won't even attempt to test him for a few days and let the dust settle and we are having overnight company starting tonight until Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for all the great vines and messages of support. Y'all are the best!!! :bighug:

Yay! So glad Bubba is back to being Bubba so quickly after his procedure! No doubt he is thinking you are being very mean to withhold food and can't understand what the big deal is! Harvey always wanted to eat pretty quickly, too, and I usually caved, but I started with a very small amount and waited 30-45 minutes to make sure he would keep it down before giving more.

Paws are crossed that this was all Bubba needed to get those numbers back where they belong.

Hey Bubba, the Falls are calling :). So smart, Bobbie, to hold off checking til after today and weekend company :). Bubba will be back to the Falls in no time !!! :) :) :)
