Can someone please advise. Chase threw up his entire snack (he eats it around 4 a.m. and I believe he threw it up at 6. And he now just threw up, again, this time the clear stuff. He has thrown up before but then felt better and ate something, if I offered his favorite snack. This time he has no interest whatsoever. His BG this morning was 184 at +11 and is now 154 at AMPS. I am afraid to shoot. I can't be here to monitor him.

Do I skip the shot?

If he can't keep food down and you can't stay, I'd skip the shot. It's better to be safe than have him go low and not be able to eat. I hope he feels better soon. Sending prayers.

That's the safest option I think. I hope he feels better soon.

Thank you. That's what I thought. What kind of food should I leave down? If you look at his SS, his numbers have been lower, but not the pre shot numbers. Also, last night he dropped to a 47 at +3. That has NEVER happened. He has only ever done that in the morning hours. I gave him a little Karo. It brought his number up but maybe it made him sick? :(

I'd leave down whatever you think he will eat and be able to keep down. It's more important that he eat than worrying about if it raises his BG.

I don't know if the Karo could make him sick, but I suppose it could. That's a scary low number.

I think it's good you skipped the shot. We've had lots of vomiting here so my heart goes out to you. Hope he is able to eat and gets better soon.

Yeah.... that 47 REALLY hit me between the eyes. I should have stayed up with him, but I wasn't feeling well. Normally I would have tried to bring the number up with HC food, but I gave him Karo. I kind of freaked out. :( I should have been a better mom last night. His number is in the blue right now, and I will check on him later. He vomits once in a great while but always feels fine afterward. This time I can tell he's sick. Not even interested in a treat. :( Wishing you all well! I have to get to work.

Well, you were a good kitty momma because you stayed up to test him till his numbers came up. Hope you're feeling better soon.

The way he's acting is how Callie has been. If she vomits, which is very seldom, she usually comes back to eat in a few minutes, but not this time. I couldn't get her to eat anything unless she had taken Cerenia. I wonder if there's something going around. Arizona isn't that far from Colorado. I'll watch your posts to see how you're doing. Prayers for you and Chase.

Thank you, Glennie. It IS like a bug. Chase is lethargic and almost warm. Hopefully all of our furbabies will feel better soon. :bighug:
