Oh, Sarah, I'm shocked and heartbroken for you! This is so painful. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing you saved him from a horrible decline. :rb_icon:cat_wings>o

((Sarah)) So sorry to hear this sad news. You have given Frank the ultimate gift of love to let him fly free and be without pain.

Hold close in your heart all the special memories to give you comfort and strength at this sad time.

It was quite a shock to me, as we talked this morning about him coming home. His little body just couldn't take anymore. They were very caring at the vet.
I'm a mess, of course. I feel bad that I couldn't do anything to make him better. He just laid in my arms and I told him how much I loved him and how handsome he was and I held him as he fell asleep.

Oh Sarah! I am so so sorry to hear this. It's so hard when we have to let them go. I know it feels like you should have been able to make him better, but the truth is eventually the only thing we can do is let them go. And it truly is the kindest gift we can give them at the end. You did everything for him and he knew how loved he was. Take comfort in knowing that he had a wonderful life..sunshine, treats, humans who loved him...what more could a kitty want?

Fly free, sweet Frank! Land softly.

I am so sorry for you loss. They are the best thing in the world these fuzzy butts of ours.

Sending hugs to help hold you together until your heart has time to heal.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Could you send donuts instead? Or a banana split? Really good cupcakes? (Only half way joking)

Thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and words. I'm so devestated. I expected so many more years with my main man. 7 was not enough.

Sarah, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss!
I wish I could take your pain away.
Sending hugs,
Marlena and Rocky:bighug::cat::bighug:

I'm still in complete shock. I feel terribly awful and sad. I left for work this morning, and usually I tell the dog bye and to be a good girl, and tell frank to be nice to his sister, and that I love them both and will see them later. And it's so weird to not say it. It's been routine for 7 years...

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:It's so hard to lose one, isn't it?

Oh Sarah, we know! Please feel free to come on here and talk about Frank and reminisce and let us cry with you! We're here for you during this. :bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost Frank.
I lost my Smoky to intestinal lymphoma at the end of May. Please know that we are here for you. You set him free and he is playing in the green grass and chasing butterflies. May the fond memories of your boy give you peace during this time.

Just wanted to share that I messaged Young Again this week as I bought an 8 lb bag of food that I had for 8 days before Frank got sick and stopped eating. I asked them the best way to keep it so I could use it for a future adult cat. (Will be adding a kitten to the house in the next 2 weeks or so, just waiting for her to bottle wean and get spayed.) They refunded me the entire amount of the food, told me to donate it to someone who could use it, and to keep them in mind for future food purchases. I'm super impressed with their generosity, and will definitely be purchasing food from them in the future. Knowing now what I know about diabetic cats, we'll be doing what we can to keep the new one out of that category.

That was a great way for them to handle that. I love hearing about companies that operate with integrity and compassion.

How are you holding up? That's so exciting about the new kitten! What kind are you getting? Do you know the mama? Is it from a shelter? stray? Be sure to post pictures when the new little one arrives.

I would love to see some pictures of your new baby :) have you picked a name yet?

Oh wow! That made me tear up just a little...what a wonderful thing for them to do!

Please do share more about your new baby when you get her! We'd love to see pictures and hear stories!

She was an abandoned kitten that we found at my work about 5 weeks ago. Love a Stray stepped in with a foster home to bottle feed her. She's a bit behind in development, so in a week or 2 she should be bottle weaned, spayed, and ready to go. I'm leaning towards Hazel for her name.

She's adorable!! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I know you miss your boy a lot but this little sweetie will be a wonderful distraction. I can't believe how young these little ones are spayed now.

Ah! She's adorable!!! I want a kitten! She is the teeniest little thing....and then those giant baby eyes!

I still give my kitties way too many treats - but now they are all low-carb freeze-dried meat kinds of treats. I'm a total pushover when they beg me for one...or seven. ;)

Kitten season has been SO ROUGH this year, probably because the last few winters have been so easy. So many kittens. In the last week, I have 3 rescue friends that have taken in 18 kittens total. Sooo...if any of you are near Cleveland OH, and want a kitten, I can hook you up with the right people.

Frank begged for treats worse than the dog. That's how I knew he was sick....I could yell "frank, want a treat?" And he wouldn't even show up.
I would love to find if anyone has done a study on non-FeLV cancer/luekemia as it relates to diabetes I think it was Cinnamon's mom who also recently lost her kitty to cancer that might have been indicated by the diabetes diagnosis. I'm now wondering if it wasn't that all along that was troubling frank but we didn't know....

I'm so sorry it was time for Frank to get his wings! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
What a gorgeous little girl Hazel is, she's so cute with your dog too! And how considerate of YA, it's always nice to hear of companies who still have compassion.

Got the call today that Frank's ashes are ready for me to go get them. I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to do it.
Yesterday I noticed the toilet paper in the spare bathroom was unwound from the roll and pulled through the room. I don't even know how long it was like that. A few weeks, I guess. That was one of Frank's favorite things to play with....toilet paper on the roll.

Aw Sarah, I'm so sorry. I buried my sweet Gypsy's ashes out back. I liked that spot because it's where my other cats like to hang out and watch the backyard so it's like they're watching over her too. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

We're here for you.

It was really hard for me to go and pick up Smoky's ashes. I was worried I wouldn't be able to drive home. I was better after I got back and knew he was home again. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that Hazel can bring you some peace and joy during this difficult time.

I haven't gone yet. I spent last night crying just thinking about doing it, and then got off work late tonight. So I'll go tomorrow.

Do you have someone who can go with you tomorrow? I know its really hard to think about picking up Frank's ashes. He will be with you in a different way. I also feel that the diabetes diagnosis with Smoky overshadowed the symptoms of the cancer until it was too late. I think I do know how you feel and just know that we are all here for you.:bighug:

I miss worrying about Frank's sugar, doin tests, making sure I'm home when Ineed to be, just caring for him in general. Today's been a hard day. I haven't cried this much in over a week. This isn't fair.
I just feel like my heart breaks over and over again. I miss my little jerk.

Oh, I finally got the courage up to go get him from the vet last week, on Wednesday or Thursday. I thought it might settle me a little, having him home again. It didn't.

Oh Sarah, I know how hard it is. I remember when I passed by Gypsy's supplies after she crossed the bridge. I would cry because I missed testing her and thinking about her numbers! It really is hard, but I promise it gets easier. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Know that we're thinking of you all the time and we're here.

I was very much a wreak after I brought home Smoky's ashes. I cried for days after that. I really miss my guy too, especially when I come home from work. It is easier for me to see his urn sitting on my dresser now than it was. He has been gone almost 3 months now and I still think about him all the time. We are here for you:bighug:.
