? L-Lysine recommendation?

Darwin has had feline Herpes since I found him as a stray with a nasty URI in 2011. I have never been able to consistently give him L-Lysine because he strongly resists oral medication, and wouldn't touch his dry food if I put anything on it. He also won't touch any treats of any kind (and I've tried a fair few).

Now that he is consistently eating canned food; I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good brand of powder that they have found to be tasteless or easy to hide in food? I think he could seriously benefit from it if I can find one I can hide in the food (without him going off the food again!)

I thought SEB could be used for herpes but it was ulcers and sores, so I went looking . Have you ever tried echinacea? There are drops without alcohol.

You know, I haven't!! That's not a bad idea! It's been so hard to try anything in the past as he's SO stubborn. But I feel as long as it's relatively tasteless, and I can hide it in his canned food; it can only help. Thanks!!

Well, I just bought 500mg tasteless L-Lysine capsules and mixed one in his snack - ate the whole lot! *HAPPY DANCE*

I also used the Now brand. I got it from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OSNOM?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20). 1 lb for $15. (The sources from Larry and Kitties is cheaper!)

The advantage of the powder is that I have arthritis in my hand and had trouble opening the capsules.

My Tut licks the Enisyl-F paste from Amazon off my hand. (He is the only one of our 4 cats who likes it; luckily he's the one with herpes.)
