okay long story short. Pippi was diagnosed about 2 months ago with diabetes. She is 11 and had her since a kitten. I am also disabled(bipolar and anxiety disorder) so this has been hard on me. The vet hasn't helped and kept raising her dose. He wants to send her to a specialist. No funds. So I am going to lean on you guys. Wife is out of town until next week, want her here to calm us both down. It took me two weeks to manage the anxiety to give her insulin shot, now it's no problem. I am sure glucose testing will be same but am extremely nervous. I will be posting more info in correct forum later.

Welcome! This diagnosis is overwhelming even for those of us who don't deal with anxiety disorders.... I can just imagine how difficult it is for you. I'm really proud of you for pushing through and getting to be ok with giving the shots.

I think you will find one you start home testing it will actually RELIEVE some of the anxiety because you will be able to KNOW, not just Guess if she's safe and if the dose is effective.

This is just the info thread so for more detailed advice and specific questions please head over to the main health forum.
