Hi all, I'm a new user from Israel whose cat was diagnosed with diabetes a week and a half ago.
I feel like I've gone through the entire spectrum of anxiety and worrying while trying to look for my cat and searching the entire internet for information at the same time.
I'm so grateful so have found this forum along with Dr. Pierson's website. I've read through a lot of it and you all were so helpful and reassuring.
I learned that the Royal Canin Diabetic food my vet sold to me could in fact worsen my cat's condition which wasn't too bad to begin with (250-280 sugar levels) and bought a whole bunch of Fancy Feast yesterday.
I also learned to approach my cat from behind while we're both facing the same direction while poking his ear. Up until that point I had him nailed down in front of me and he became extremely frustrated
Luckily I didn't loose an eye.
Thank you all again, hopefully we've got it managed.
