Thank you all for your advice and guidance. I have been absent from the board for a few weeks. Just juggling a lot of different things. Timmy gave me weird numbers on Sunday morning for sure. Trying to find a safe dose for him when I may have to leave at any moment is very stressful, but I will have to find a workaround for this so his numbers come down. He is feeling pretty good. He doesn't hide anymore. He is extremely social. One thing that is very weird though is when he is high, red numbers, he licks his side until there is no hair. When his numbers come down he doesn't. Any thoughts on that one?
In the early hours of Sunday morning, I was drinking my coffee, looking out at the back yard and a very tiny cat brought her three kittens, one-by-one, through our yard. It was pretty cute until I realized she was putting them on our boat! We don't use it when it is this hot. We use it a lot in the fall and winter, so it was kind of dry docked. We have a breathable cover on it and an awning structure over the whole thing. I have been feeding the mother cat every 3 hours and not leaving food out because of other predators. I don't want to spook her and try to look at the babies because if she leaves, the babies will need round the clock attention. I have called rescue groups and apparently it is kitten season and every place is full. She is a stray, she doesn't seem feral. She will come close to me when I feed her, but I think that is more food driven? She looks at me and slowly closes her eyes and then opens them. I haven't tried to touch her yet. She is just so tiny. My vet loaned me a humane trap, but I'm afraid it will spook her. We must get the mother spayed and everyone checked out soon and we would really like to keep the mother cat. I'm just at a loss as to how to proceed. There are a lot of small places for her to hide those kittens on that boat too. I'm just going day by day with this situation. Any ideas?
