Took a bit of a dive at the beginning today, but seems to have leveled off. Nice to see some lower numbers today, even if just a bit lower. Especially after that icky pre-shot this morning. Fingers crossed he can hold it down for awhile!

Looks like my early nadir kitty is sticking with his usual patterns (at least so far)...

I'm obviously too new but I'm thinking option 2 :). I don't think you could do the regular increase since the increase is more than his current dose

LOL...I was thinking of an "increase" as like a drop more than he's getting now. I don't feel any need for him to go below that 71 (although there's room), but that was some pretty short duration on the under-80 numbers today, and that pre-shot was stinky. Wondering if a drop more might give him a couple more hours down there?

One way to find out :D. Will you be around next couple days? I think you are tied to your home office still, right? :bighug::p

Chained here for-ev-er! Okay, I'm being dramatic. I'll actually be in the office all day on Monday and Tuesday, so he'll pretty much be on his own then. But I'm here today and tomorrow getting things ready for those meetings. We'll see how he does tonight, and if anyone chimes in with advice on this.

Really not loving the pre-shots today. Anyone have thoughts on moving to 0.25 tomorrow?
I wonder if you really are seeing that depot effect even at this low dose. Party of every shot goes into the depot so there's only a teeny tiny bit that's working right away on his BG. Two choices: keep this dose for another cycle or two to see if things improve or go for it and increase. I know - obvious ...

Gee, thanks, Kris.;)

(to anyone reading this, Kris and I know each other well, I promise I'm not being disrespectful)

He got a pretty quick 50% drop today (although that's not terribly unusual for him), so part of me thinks I should just hang on another couple of cycles, but it's hard not to squirm a little with those rising PS numbers. How much is his body adjusting to a new insulin? Or a semi-depot that needs more time? Or not enough insulin?

Wouldn't a skinny 0.25 be about the same as our very precise 0.143u? I need you to come over and help me figure out how to draw those in-between doses! These teeny tiny ones are hard enough! I waste twice as much insulin as I inject at this point.

Well, he's barely moved from PMPS, so I think I'll draw a smidge more for him in the morning, unless someone objects between now and then. Hopefully that's the right thing to do!

I really think that the margin of error is very large when you're micro dosing and that can lead to erratic results. The sources of error are numerous as well - measuring out the dose, getting it all into the cat, local injection site absorption variability, sequestering in the depot versus entering general circulation, etc.

I'm worried about that too. I'm trying to be so precise about it, but it feels like the whole thing is a lot of hope and prayer that he's a) getting anything at all, and b) not getting too much.

That 71 was his lowest nadir since on Lantus. I think he is doing well and he doesn't have a whole lot of wiggle room with his nadir today. I would hold the 0.1 as today was cycle 6. The lowest nadir before that was a 65 and that was with a .20 unit ProZinc dose. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Also, I know what you mean about wondering if anything even got into him. Here's what I did when I got down to 0.1 : When you inject, hold the plunger in and count to 10 and continue to hold the plunger in as you remove the needle from his skin. Before I started doing that, the insulin would get sucked back into the syringe and I could express a drop or so. After I started holding the plunger in as I removed the needle, no more insulin in the syringe.
