is it normal for BG to go higher after AMBG/shoot?

Are you testing, feeding, then shooting at AMPS, then waiting an hour and testing again?
Food seems to have a big impact on Fabby.
I use a different type of insulin, so I don't have experience with how yours works to offer advice there.
But for the the food alone can affect BG. (Also why you're not supposed to have any food 2 hours before testing.)

I thought it takes about 2 hours for the insulin to kick in?

I have been wondering the same thing but I assume the insulin hasn't taken effect yet and the food is throwing the higher numbers until the insulin starts working.

Yes, for many cats, BG at +1 can be a little higher an a PS. It takes a little while for the insulin to kick in and food tends to raise BG.

My Beenie is always higher after her AM shot. You're looking for the +5 thru +7 number which is typical nadir on Prozinc.

The industry standard allows for a 20% variance in meter readings and since there is less than 20% difference between 253 and 296, it is considered to be essentially the same number. However, it's not at all uncommon to get higher BG readings for the first couple of hours after a shot because kitty has also had a meal.

aww Pogo is such a cute name! Little Roo was my foster bottle fed kitten. I got her (and her sister) about 2 days old when their mom died - when I was working in a rescue shelter in the cattery. She was so tiny and I almost wasn't sure if she'd make it. But she did and I ended up keeping her and wanted to name her Roo - and because of her tiny size, I ended up naming her "Little Roo" I'll post a couple baby pics

She's a calico? You can't tell by the close-up picture. She's darling and it seems like she's a fighter, too. I hope she acheives remission.Follows me everywhere and sleeps with me every night

She has stayed pretty small actually. My other two could stand to lose some weight. Maybe with the diet change and less grazing they will
