Does Maury take the same amount of Lantus as he did of Prozinc. Do you think that you might like 1 insulin better than the other. You know I have been thinking for a while about giving Lantus a try, just want to get all my ducks in a row, before I make a move.

Sorry for very delayed response, Teresa! Busy 5 days, best mate's Mum came in for a visit and we've not seen her for at least 18 months. I made some posts asking for opinions on Maury's starting dose and usually you switch with just a minor decrease. BUT with his pancreatitis and better numbers for a while he was no longer near the higher dose of Prozinc when I asked so holding Prozinc dose of 1.4U, I switched and started him on Lantus at 1.25U, almost 0.25U less. I had to hold some doses longer than 6 cycles because he kept looking like he wanted to show me better numbers and finally saw them today :cool::cool::cool:.

I have about 2 weeks before starting the new job so I want to be more comfortable leaving him and know what his dose is doing, always keeping the depot in mind too. I'm probably going to increase tomorrow, if I'm going to be home like I think I am ;). He's been a little more like his old self on Lantus but that could also just be timing, I saw little improvements as we were on Prozinc too, or when I'm not home much he tends to be more goofy/lovey :smuggrin:. I am liking the gentler drops on Lantus, biggest I've seen is 100 points in 3h 15m :cat:
 
First lower PS number, stalling without feeding, retesting in about 5 minutes. I am supposed to hold the current dose, correct? :nailbiting:
