Argh! I didn't know with the PMPS of 12.7 Martini would drop to 6.6 AMPS or I would have tested more at night. Perhaps she again dropped below the 5.0 threshold, I don't know. It's my fault yes and I know I should have tested. Again I hate myself for putting her through this. :(
Is the 1.25 I'm giving too much that she is dropping and bouncing so much? I'm feeling it may be the reason but I'd like some opinions if possible.
(Sorry for all these silly questions, I just want to help her as much as I can)

Thank you and care to all kitties!

Sandy

Yes to bouncing. You have some nice numbers at this dose. I'd stay the course unless a lime green shows up.

But what if by my sleeping I have missed the lime greens??? I cannot have her bouncing again as soon as one bounce is over. It's not good for her.
Thanks Kris.

Yes, missing a lime green is a possibility but short of her wearing a 24 hour BG monitor you won't know. My guy is a champion bouncer and, like you, I worried about the effect on him. He's finally settled down some fairly recently. It's almost impossible to stop bouncing if a kitty is prone. Some people have success with feeding little snacks at +1/+2/+3 to steer the BG down slowly. It can be helpful. Have you tried that?

A lot of us get a +2 every night - if it's the same or lower than the PMPS, it's often an indication that more frequent monitoring is needed. That might help you identify the nights that she's more likely to have a green nadir, and many cats go lower at night. Sometimes Chino will drop 50 mg/dL in the first 2 hours, then drop another 100 mg/dL over the next 2 hours, but when I see that, I can usually feed some MC or HC gravy which will slow him down enough to keep him safe until the next test at +7 or +8. It might take some experimenting to see what % carbohydrate food is needed to slow Martini's drop, but having that info will help you get more sleep while keeping her safe at night.

Martini eats heartily and then goes to sleep after eating (IF she likes what I'm serving! ). I've given her a spoonful or two after she gets up ( about 2 or 3 hours after eating) sometimes she nibbles a bit, other times nothing.

Thanks Adrian, I've done that before when she's been 'blue' PMPS. With 12.9 and her history of being pretty much the same at +2 from testing, I didn't take any +2,+3.+4. She eats well and really is not hungry so early after eating - had to force it when she dropped to green last time.

I've done that before when she's been 'blue' PMPS.

If she bounces from blue, that might explain the higher +2 on those nights. ECID, but I find that when Chino's ready to come down from a bounce, his BG often rises during the day, so a higher than usual PMPS tells me he's probably going to lower than usual that night.

All this is valuable info for me, thank you so much!! Still so much to learn......

Marvin tends to have late nadirs sometimes, I took a quick look at your SS and this also maybe the cases sometimes for yours. Since my kitty just started getting some nice numbers, I have been putting food out at night for him, LC at moment, but thinking I may need to get some MC, and HC. I have one can of HC, but probably not enough. I am not an expert and still getting my mind around the bouncing, mine used to bounce right into the pink or red, it looks like small bounces to me right now with you kitty, so I think he will probably level out eventually. I also have or had a hard time testing at night. I am off right now so makes it easier. I still can't tell when he will nadir late verses mid cycle. I have more data lately, so it does help me make some decision whether to shoot or not, and even lately I shot lower dosages when I was not comfy with before bed BG (I still miss those sometimes when I fall asleep on the couch). Getting in a routine for me was hard, still is but I am getting better. I am sure you will too. I had similar experiences as you where I felt guilty which encourages me to try and setup a routine. I think routines for some people is natural, it wasn't for me, but I am getting there.

Beauty number Nat!
I've got a ways to go before I get to all blues, may never get there, but we'll keep trying for the greens too! :)
Thank you too for the invaluable info!

It helps to learn your kitties patterns, so you know when to test. Adrian had some good examples above. With Martini, if I were to see her come down all day (like July 6th), or perhaps flat in the last part of the AM cycle like she was on July 8th, those might be times I'd try to get a +2 or before bed test. Many kitties go lower at night - just look at Chino's spreadsheet , Neko did too - so those before bed tests are really helpful.
