Those foil lined packs are ok, but I am not a big fan if it is hot outside. Marks used those once for one of my orders and the pens were ok, but not as cold as when I request a foam cooler. The cooler they ship has very thick walls and even when we ordered in the Florida summer, the insulin was still around 70 degrees. They also ship very fast, I'm amazed how fast it gets here from Canada.

Alan's reply while probably technically correct, does not account for the length of time we have the insulin. It is the same reason why we refridgerate the insulin even though most human users do not. Most cats just don't go through 5 pens or a vial in 30 days.

Yes, the above package was inside a Styrofoam (thick) box along with extra ice packs. I am going to try it again when I know he has stabilized with NO other changes (food/dose, etc.) and make a decision. Marks is great. I spoke to them about my concerns when I placed the order so they offered the extra packaging. I don't blame them at all. The week before I ordered we were in the low 40's. I wanted to get it ordered and here before it got too hot. Best laid plans and all that :banghead: It is just the $$ :arghh:

I tracked the package and it goes from BC, to San Francisco (customs) to Dallas to Houston. It arrived in Houston on Friday and was delivered to my work on Monday. My concern was, where was it over the weekend? In a truck, in the heat, or in a sorting facility (air conditioned).

That being said, it has never been bad insulin when considering factors previously. ;)

I just received 3 vials from Marks Marine last week. I received it within 4 days of the order. That was the fastest shipment for me yet. I have yet to have insulin go bad because of the heat. And here in Florida temps have been in the 90s.
