Just got back from vets. PLEASE SAY PRAYERS!!

Blood work for kidneys and glucose came back normal. I proved to the vet that my hometesting works! Blood work was jaundice, so waiting for results for liver function test and pancreatitis test. I think she has fatty liver.

What are treatments for jaundice? Stay in the hospital with IV fluids and feeding tube? I HATE to leave her there since weekend is almost here............

:'(

Gave her 1/2 of the 5-15lb tube of Revolution. Hopefully, that isn't going to make her worse....Don't know how much more I can take

:bighug::bighug::bighug:PRAYERS !

If you got a minute look at my cat's SS/LAB @the bottom. Feb 24 her bilirubin was 1.5 with ref range 0-0.4. ALT/AST - thru the roof. Vet mumbled something about jaundice and letting go. Her fur turned yellow, poo was whitish, urine - canary yellow.We had no money for hospital stay so we were giving SQ f at home and fed her thru the ETube - one and half 5.5oz can /day. She also took 10 days course of Denamarin for liver. She gained weight in less than 8 weeks. On 4/1 her bilirubin is back to norm :0.2 w/ref range 0-0.4. AST is back to norm. ALT improved significantly. I never learnt what jaundice treatment was. In Ducia's case it seemed to be good food, SQ fluids, insulin and loving care. Sending you speedy recovery vines. :bighug:

she may have to go to the vets and stay for iv fluids and meds, but i just hate the thought of her staying there by herself scared to death. and then what about the weekend???

I would encourage you to give serious thought to a feeding tube if your vet suggests it. Once she has it put in and is stabilized you can tube feed her at home for as long as she needs. She doesn't have to stay at the clinic just because of tube feeding.

Isn't IV therapy first??

Both Tanya and I have experience with feeding tubes in kitties. I'm sure she would agree with me when I say that the idea of it is horrifying but the reality is actually very manageable. It's the best way to get a kitty who won't eat for whatever reason back into the habit of eating on her own. They can go off food because they feel ill and then the anorexia takes on a life of its own separate from the problem that caused it.

..vet thinks Patches has cholangiohepatitis....we are waiting for pancreatitis test to come back tomorrow.

PATCHES UPDATE: Vet is not talking IV fluids at this time. -..vet thinks Patches has cholangiohepatitis....we are waiting for pancreatitis test to come back tomorrow.
