Reduced Marvin dose to 6U, crazy couple days, the Cabergoline seems to be really helping this acro kitty :)

His hunger seems less the last two days, so need to monitor that as he wasn't eating a lot for a while, thinking it's those low numbers. Based on the past he does seem to eat less I think when his numbers are lower.

Yes, very good response, I just sent an email to Chris at RVC with Marvin's Journal, and let him know how well he is doing. Asked if this is the type of progress they have seen and for news on the trail. Hope to hear back soon.
 
That is awesome that Marvin is responding so well to the Cabergoline. When I asked back in April or so, 1 of the 6 kitties in the official trial was responding well, would like to hear an update.

When you had mentioned the one kitty was on the lower side of high dosing, I was hoping that it would work on him, since he had shown a little progress on 6U. It maybe a timing thing. How is Bronx doing post SRT? I know it's a slow process, I did notice that you have been able to reduce a bit.
 
It takes a while for kitties to get used to green and blues as normal numbers again. The first few times Neko saw green, she hid under the bed. Do you think he is still eating a normal amount of food? It is nice when they stop bugging you for food all the time. Or stealing it off the counter like some cats I could name. :rolleyes:

since Marvin has been diagnosed he hasn't begged for food and eats a lot less, I kinda miss that. He was very vocal about it, and when he didn't have neuropathy when I got home and was in the kitchen he would stand on his back legs and rub my behind with his front paws to beg for food. Loved those butt rubs :). He hasn't gotten that huge hunger you read about with acro cats with weight gain since diagnosed. Mind you I think he had that prior all his life, remember putting him on diet food years ago, and that lasted 2 days, my ex couldn't stand the constant begging, crying, etc. He was never into people food until a few years back, and yes he got as bad as a puppy when I was eating. Especially Lasagna...hmmm

I am hoping the SRT is finally having an effect, been 4 days now with no use of R insulin and Levemir dosage is down. But there were times pre-SRT he would get in these grooves so it's hard to tell yet, fingers crossed...

He has done great progress, looks like half of the highest he had. Nice work, hope it keeps progressing well for you both :)
 
Plus 4 128, another active cycle. I too am getting tired of poking my kitty, and late nights. Glad he is doing good, he is less active today, but it's also hot and humid today in the house, so I am feeling the same.
 
It could be that the lower numbers you were seeing were due to the depot of the 7.5 and 7.0 unit doses. You may see his numbers start to drift up, in which case you will know it was too big a reduction. But given the amount of action he has seen lately, and that we don't know how fast cabergoline works, best be safe.

drifting slightly up, pmps 234, lets see what the rest of the evening has in store, Marvin's mom does need some sleep, so hoping it is active but not so much that I need to worry about going to bed at reasonable time :)
 
Plus 3.5 157, still active cycle, not as crazy as last few days, but still should monitor my late nadir kitty and I was hoping to go to bed now... d'oh
