Have Buddy Catz on .5U Lantus and he seems to be more or less regulated (for now). Pretty much not interested in dry food - but also has gained weight back just by eating Fancy Feast. Have provided Vet with spreadsheets every 2 weeks and she is fine with dose reduction from 1U to .5U. But otherwise, no real input - I asked the Vet Tech how many animals she has seen go into remission at the practice and she said "0". So, wondering if I am feeding too much, shooting too small of a dose, or all is ok?

I'd say Buddy's numbers look good :D. I would encourage you to keep getting mid-cycle tests whenever you can, like if you are off this weekend, that would be a great time to collect data. As far as food goes, I would try to keep him on an only wet diet, if possible. Do you think he is too heavy or too skinny or just right as far as his weight goes. I know a lot of kitties lose weight when first diagnosed.

Well, TBH - Buddy's always been overweight - when he was first showing signs of diabetes, he was losing weight and looked like a normal cat - which for him, meant something was amiss. He was initially diagnosed with hyperthyroid (ruled out after additional testing), then IBD, was put on prednisolone and a few months later, had full-blown diabetes symptoms. Now, as his BG #'s dropped, he is gaining weight - plus he is less active. So, his weight gain may interfer with remission. Guess we all need to go to the gym! And yes, he is really not interested in the Evo, which is good.
