Help, please...

Do I shoot an 81?

UPDATE: The first test had to be wrong. This looks confusing so I wanted to put a PS here.

You shot an 84 on June 18 PM - same thing. You could stall for 20 minutes and retest to see if he comes up a bit.
Thank you for reminding me. I seem to get easily stressed lately. I have so much going on, now. Changing jobs, moving to another city.

I need to just go ahead and shoot. I already put his food down. :(

His numbers have been so weird. Over 200 yesterday morning and with a skipped shot, at that. And then PMPS was 119. Numbers went up after shot last night and stayed up... hovering around 133, I think.

I'll test him here in a few and shoot, hopefully. The longer I wait, though, the less time I have to test. I will only get a +2 now, as it is. Fingers crossed.

First test had to be wrong. Now he is 283. There's no way a small low carb meal could bring his number up that much. But OMG... 283, that's horrible. Although after yesterday, I guess that's not so abnormal. I don't know.... I'm feeling like he's going to need more insulin soon. :(

I'm glad you shot. Hopefully Chase will slide down for you today. He may be a bit bouncy while the depot refills from the skipped shot. :bighug::bighug:
Thank you, Carla. :bighug::bighug:

His numbers seem to have been creeping up higher and higher... I wonder if his insulin will need to be increased. I will leave it to the experts, here. I will say that I have 3 more weeks before I move, and 3 weeks of an altered work schedule so that I can be here to test at +3. After that I will be at a job where I work reception desk and MUST be there at open of business.
so if I'm going to do an increase, I need to do it soon to see how he does.

I think I've read on here that being constipated can affect their numbers, but I don't remember up or down. Sorry you're extra stressed lately. Hope things calm down for you soon. Those are big changes so try not to be hard on yourself about being stressed. :bighug:

Thanks, Glennie. Yeah... it can make there numbers go up. I'm going to start giving his some Miralax.

In the 280s. :( Don't you guys think that the drop dose is too little for his numbers, or am I supposed to wait. For how long?

His number was very high yesterday, but he ate 2.5 hours later than normal. Then I had to skip his shot. Then the number went down some in the evening, but this morning they are horribly high. Higher than any yellow number he ever had... even in the very beginning.

Can someone please look at his SS and tell me the pros and cons of increasing his dose, at this time? As I've shared, I've got a small window of time to be able to watch him closely in the mornings. In 3 weeks I will be at at my new job and will no longer have the luxury of testing in the mornings, except for AMPS and +1, which doesn't tell me anything about how the insulin is acting on him.

Hi sandi just looking at the ss and trying to figure things out
irst test had to be wrong. Now he is 283.
So this was taken after he ate but before you shot? and 30 min after the 81?
(the 81 may well have been wonky)
Since 6/21 he hasn't seen green, and some yellow has crept in, even before the FS. I think that you may want to consider taking him up a tad. I'd like to see what @Marje and Gracie thinks.

I really do think his constipation is a factor in this, hopefully you can get things moving along and that will help numbers, I think someone already mentioned that you need to make sure he is getting plenty of water with the miralax to help his BM's.

Hi Gil. The 81 was a bed test, I'm sure. I tested and posted. I always give him his shot while he is eating, so I didn't think to NOT feed him. Anyway, he ate and then I tested him again IMMEDIATELY after he ate. When I saw the 283 I shot right away. Then an hour later, he was still at 285. Yes, the yellow was before the "fur shot" but I was 2.5 hours late in feeding him. Could that have had something to do with such a high number, since he is so sensitive with eating?

Chase may need more insulin, but you may want to wait and see what he does tonight since he is coming down today. You don't want to increase as he's coming down or he could zoom down tonight. You also saw a 63 on this dose this week. That doesn't leave a lot of room to increase.

Yesterday the lower PMPS was most likely from the depot releasing insulin to make up for the missed shot. This morning you are probably seeing a bounce from the drop yesterday and some insulin has to go to refill the depot from the skipped shot. Holding the dose will allow the depot to stabilize and then you can see what he can do on this dose.

Possibly. But he did seem to be trending up by that point. It's likely a combination of things.
Down to 150 at +2.75. Gotta run, Will check back in this evening. I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Thank you for explaining that to me. His numbers tonight are very fair, and he's into green, again. I'm so happy. :)
