So right before the tech took him back I asked if an Ultrasound would be better. She said "we don't have one." I was all ok, stones show on Xray.

So she comes in says he was sweet and the vet would come by.

Vet comes in and says no stones. I say cool in kidney too? she says nope no stones. I say "any sludge?" she is like well not likely because it would show a little. I agree.

Then, wait for it..
she is all "well look at this..."

She shows me two views of Ferg's abdomen. One view shows the kidneys kinds on top of each other slightly. She p[points out one is larger than the other.
Worry.

Then she shows the view from above his abdomen. One kidney is about a large and the other a medium. I ask is this bad. She says the large is regular sized and the medium is the one smaller than normal.

She suggests an internal medicine consult and ...an Ultrasound. I ask if he is functioning well, she says yes. I explain we had a ct in the past with one kidney small and shriveled from birth. We found out incidentally with and xray for something else.

She says she wants to rule out any other issue but doesn't see any now. I ask if we can treat the organism Longer this time, repeat his labs then go the internal medicine route if stuff is still up. she was cool. The internal medicine vet is going to be expensive and blood work is cheaper a this vet and well the kidneys seem ok except for being different sizes. Since we just had blood work done a month ago we will redo it when we recheck the urine culture at the end of the antibiotic course.

So that is what's up.
Weird I know.

What do y'all think?

I wouldn't worry about the kidneys being different sizes. My civvie Tanner has the same thing and he has had zero issues.
