It looks like I may end up driving back and forth from Tucson and Sierra Vista for about a month. I will have to stop Chase's insulin at that time and start back up once we get moved into somewhere in Sierra Vista. I know this is not ideal and I feel awful about it, but I don't know that it would even be possible. The 12 hours apart would be almost impossible to do. I will work from 8- 5... and with an hour and a half drive there I will have to leave my apartment by 6:15 and then I won''t get home until 6:30, at the earliest. I just don't see how I can work this. It would be worse to give him a shot only once a day... right? I mean... as opposed to NO insulin?

Do Chase's numbers mean he's "bouncing" all over the place? Someone said his numbers were better this time, around.

When I look at blues and greens, since I started him back on the drop dose again, he has 33 green numbers and 44 blue numbers (although only 11 of those blues are 120 or lower). There was one yellow number in there, too.

So... since June 11th (when I started giving him insulin, again) he has 44 numbers that are considered to be in the safe range. I can't tell if that makes a difference, since he's had 22 numbers that are considered unsafe.

How can I look at his numbers and make sense of them? :(

I don't think he's bouncing, he seems as a general rule to be coming up at the end of the cycle (PS), maybe he's not quite getting the duration.

The one number that has me  is the 170 at +5 yesterday, that one seems a bit odd??

I don't know about the dosing SID, whether it would be better than nothing at all.

I'm sorry you aren't well and hope you are feeling a bit better tonight, Sandi.

I think I remember you start the new job in Jul 17? I think we should not worry about dose or shooting u til we get there and see what he's doing.

For now, I'd hold this dose until he earns a reduction or starts to trend up.

Thank you. Yeah.... he seems to have more and more of the green numbers, so I definitely won't wont increase dose... for sure. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. A reduction, at this point, would mean no insulin at all. How would he earn that, again? Having all numbers below 100 for a straight week? I don't remember. :(

Dropping below 50 or, yes, being under 100 for seven days. Do you think what you are doing is a drop? If not, if he earns a reduction, then the next dose we should go to is a drop.

For cats returning from the Falls, we want to give them insulin as long as safely possible so they go back into remission and, hopefully, stay there.

He is on a drop... where I push the plunger down all the way, put it into the vile... and simply let it go I don't actually draw any insulin. So there is no reduction from where he is, now. Marje... if I end up having to drive back and forth for a month, would it be better to give him insulin only once a day (which is all I could do because of the time involved) or just take him off until I can move to Sierra Vista? There will be a month that I will have to drive back and forth (most likely). I don't know what I'm supposed to do. :(

Ok..good...I just wanted to be sure I was clear so let's see what he does.

Post 6 above :)

So..at this point, let's take it a day at a time and not try to figure out something that we might not even need to worry about. Be sure you let me know what day you actually have to start driving to Sierra Vista for work and then a couple days before that, we will make a plan based on what he's doing.

Sound good?:bighug:
