In about 20 minutes Fergus will go to the vet. I haven't spoken to her since diagnosis really. I am so nervous. I am going to ask for them to test him and he needs a few other things too.

Wish us luck! I cannot imagine that he is so close to this after seeming to have just found out about his illness. I know remission is just that remission but this seems like a miracle.

Thank you all for every post of support.
The whole family is going to the vet today (except his furry brother) so we can share in this potentially wonderful day.

Good luck! :):):)

I hope the vet is pleasantly surprised!

You are right that it is just remission, you will have to continue to feed the same, and monitor periodically.

Happy day. 13!

We just got back form the vet. So the vet was dubious about my meter. Asked right off if I got the Alphatrack. She did a BS and it was 133. I had fed about 1 hour prior. About 30 min after his BS at the vet, I took it on my meter for her and it was 73 and 80. She said before I took it that it may be different 30 mins later. It was but I wanted her to see we could do it. I gave her the spreadsheet. When I told her it was FDMB that helped and thanked her for the paper that led me there, she didn't seem to think she had told me to go there. Well she did and I found you all and you helped my family so so very much. Thank you
I asked about the fructosamin test and if we needed it. She said that since he had been off for 2 weeks and I had a spreadsheet that she saw no reason to do it and felt strongly that he was in remission.
She checked his PU site and said if there is no issue in the litter box or lots of grooming there then we are okay to leave it since it looked good. She checked his teeth and said he could use a little cleaning due to some tarter. She said she would call with the urine culture results and would check to see how many calories he needed to help him maintain or loose a bit more weight. He is 14 lbs now.

Just so happy. I gave him a fancy feast chicken treat and one for Diego too. He was such a good boy at the vet and perky and not scared in the car.

Again thank you so much. I cried in the car on the way home. i did not realize how nervous I had been.

What a great Father's day Gift for my DH!

So much love and light to those of you hear and especially those needing it more tonight.

Bless you all.

Congratulations!!!

Is so great that he's on remission give yourself a really big hug you deserve it .

Sending you lots and lots of hugs and vines:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Babu says if you allow it he would take Fergus out for a celebration party (only low carbs of course)
