Continuing our conversation from yesterday, I totally understand your reluctance to take large increases, especially if no one is around to monitor during the cycle. I was just curious. I do think he's getting closer to a good dose, so maybe that next .25 increase will be the one. Paws crossed.
 
I'm trying the half unit increase tonight. It's easier to measure. So far it looks like an active cycle... He got a few bites of kitty's Young again zero but it was only about a teaspoon.
Testing +3 soon.
 
+4.5 75 gave a tsp grilled salmon feast in gravy. Not getting this one again... Almost impossible to get just gravy.

+6.5 62 gave .5tsp lc FF pate
+7 57 gave him another tsp 13% carbs FF.

You'll get there! The SS helps keep me calm because I can see how he reacted before and what worked to get his numbers to stop dropping. I mean I'm still a little anxious about it but I fake it til we make it!
 
He didn't get more after that reading so if the next is the same or higher he won't get more again. Usually after 3 tests with no food before them it can be considered safe. If it's early in the cycle (sorry my auto correct inserted a bad 4 letter word!!) like his was when we started then you want to get more tests to make sure he's not going down again.
We are at his usual nadir but lately he's been dipping a bit around +9 or +10. I'm in for a long night unless I see a significant increase.

I am sorry you are up for a long one. If I had those numbers you have, I could see an all nighter for me.
 
When he was on prozinc I couldn't get him to surf. Once he started going up once it was all over. He'd be sky high by the next preshot. I'm still trying to figure out how much he can have before he starts racing to the top. He bounces high and fast too. It's much more controlled on lantus than it was on prozinc. He would jump 200-300 points in an hour on prozinc. He's not the typical feline diabetic! But he's becoming more "typical" on lantus.

I'm going to bed. DH will be home around +9.75 so he will test as soon as he gets in the door.

The part I'm forever unsure of: dose for the morning. He had HC food and LC to steer. Got to 57. So I'm thinking back to 12 units for the morning dose. We can only monitor til +3.5ish so I can't be too daring with dose. DH wants to give 11.5-11.75 but I disagree. I think he will be just fine on 12. Here's worried about the Depot carryover and I am too but I think that's too big of a reduction and will set us back into pinks!
