That’s a nice, flat curve for Samba. I hope the handsome boy is feeling well today.

I think Samba decided on a little bounce starting last night. What you now want to watch for is to see if he gets a “high before the break”. Not all kitties do this but when they do, it’s a nice signal to you that the bounce might be about to clear.

How to recognize it? He will start the bounce and might bounce for a few to six cycles and even might look like he’s about to start clearing it and then he will suddenly pop up. When you see this, be prepared that it “could” be the high before the break.

Hope you can get out and enjoy today as he is giving you a recreation pass!
 
Going out for a few hours tonight, which seldom happens anymore. If his number were lower than 150 right now, I'd definitely cancel plans, but he is at 302... I am very aware of the potential that he could still dive low from 302 based on past experiences ;) but I will put all his evening LC food in the timed feeder to be given to him at +1, +2 and +3 and should be home by midnight. @Marje and Gracie, if you think I should add a tsp of MC at +2 or +3 as insurance to the timed feeder, I'll do that! Well I certainly would be thrilled for you to get out!!! We need to take those opportunities when we can.

Here’s what I’m seeing.....a little higher PMPS (not really high but could it be the high before the break). As @Bobbie And Bubba said, flat yellow often portends an active subsequent cycle.

I would not want you to miss going out so you might want to leave him a little MC food in case he drops +2/+3. Just so you can have fun!

Thank you!! My roommate gave him a tsp of MC at +3. I just got up to do a spot check. Unfortunately, the next two nights I have engagements after his shot as well...dinner with a friend tonight and a friend's birthday tomorrow night. Won't be staying out quite as long and will be back by +3, maybe even earlier (if he's behaving in the first place :cat:). Do you think that I should leave a tsp of MC in the timed feeder for him at +2 tonight and tomorrow night since I won't be home at that hour? I'm sorry...I'm eager to see how he does with manipulating the curve, and I should be around in the evenings the rest of the week to get all the early tests in. I hope you had a great weekend with Livia and Tobey!! :joyful:

He's due to clear a bounce and I don't know when he will; however, his AMPS this morning could be the beginning.

I'd like to see him get back down into blue before jumping the gun on a dose increase but if he stays up where he is, he will need an increase soon. The art is making sure we don't increase when he's clearing a bounce.

As far as tonight, I think you will need to see what his PMPS is and see if we can tell if he came down and is headed back up or if it looks like he might clear the bounce. I'll try to be around at 8 your time but not sure what we have on the agenda today.

Are you suggesting a possible dose increase tonight based on his PMPS? Sorry I am confused...I have to meet my friend at 8:15 at a restaurant that is 15 minutes away, so I will probably shoot a few minutes prior to 8 and won't have much time to stall. I can be home by 10PM for the +2 tonight, so he will just miss one test time at +1. If his preshot number is under 150, I'll cancel dinner. Does that sound okay? Thanks!!!

Sorry...no, not tonight. I want to see if he’s going to clear a bounce or not. And since you are going out, it’s not a good night to increase the dose. Some cats will see some action the first cycle of a dose increase.

I think if his PMPS is below 150, it might be a good idea to cancel. Let’s hope you don’t have to.
