@Marje and Gracie, is this a time that you would feed MC? He dropped from 405 to 287, which is way more than 50 points, and it is early in the cycle...however, 287 is still very high. Thanks!!!!

Darn...sorry....having dinner.

Yes...I would have used some MC to slow him down a bit.

He gave us a bit of a hint tonight when he did not get a food spike at +1 and his +2 was less than his PMPS. Great job testing and starting to build some data. You also got some info about how carb sensitive he is....you fed 12% and if stopped him cold!

Excellent job keeping track of what you are feeding which is one thing I forgot  to tell you. You can see on Gracie's SS that I tracked all food in terms of how much, at what time, and what % carbs. It's a great way to have a record of what worked and what didn't.

Remember that 50 an hour drop was something I learned about Gracie. I have seen other people applying it across the board and it shouldn't be. It could be less or more for another cat so the goal here is to find out what is a "big drop" for Samba....and remember, it can change or be more or less important depending on when it is in the cycle.

Awesome job!!!!

Just a note: since we are three hours apart, my guess is you will be well into the cycle in the morning before I even get up. I will check in as soon as I get up and get the cats fed, but seems like you are catching on fast! :)

He has a 10:15am vet appointment in the morning, and the trip will take us about an hour, so I will get AMPS at 8am and a +1 at 9am, but then it will probably be a few hours before I get another test (except if the vet wants to do one on the stupid Alphatrak, which he probably will )... anyway, I plan to feed all of his AM cycle food at AMPS and +1 but probably won't give him the whole 5.25oz since that might make him vomit. I will probably give him 1.5oz at each and may feed him extra in the first few hours of his PM cycle to make up for it. Please tell me to do differently if I should. I hadn't thought much about feeding times before other than trying to get them in before the elusive "nadir" whenever that actually is for him, haha.. I guess I'm gonna have to figure that out. Thank you so much for everything. Don't worry if we're not on the forum at the same time w/ being on opposite coasts. I don't expect an immediate response and know that we all are trying to have lives here too!

I just added something above...put it in bold so you would see it. :)
Sounds good. I won't make it the rule but will keep it in mind for now and adjust as needed...118 points seemed like a big drop to me. I'll not get attached to 50 as the magic number. Thanks!!! :)

I think when you have something like that going on, you just have to do the best you can and not worry about it. He might pull a stunt on you, though, and decide to run lower in the morning just because you are going to the vet. ;) If he does, take your meter, some syrup, and food with you so you can test and feed him as needed.

You are correct....118 an hour is a very big drop. It will be interesting to see if he bounces and how high.

Good luck with the dose increase.

Thank you! Feeling hopeful... and thanks for the reminder to bring all his goods just in case :D
