So I have gone back to school and suddenly Jelly has been leveling out. I have not been giving insulin as numbers been so great. still monitoring food and occasional test and numbers staying low. From what I can tell this is a good thing. What advice should i follow now.

This is wonderful, Rochelle! Just keep monitoring the way you are, keep your SS up to date (please!) and post here with any questions you have. :)

i updated the spread sheet and I will thanks. I do have a question if he can be stabilized on food or has the random high day lanatas is a long acting twice a day insulin if he needs a random shot here and there what one would be best for him?

Please get a amps and pmps every day. If she stays within normal numbers 50-120 on a human meter she may become a diet dependent diabetic. Usually people go to a drop until a drop under 50. Good luck.

You wouldn't be giving random shots. If her numbers trend up you would resume twice a day injections.

Keep feeding the low carb food and doing the routine BG testing. He's a diet controlled diabetic right now so you have to be strict in what you feed him.

You've already been advised about the insulin. No random shots - back on twice a day dosing if BGs start rising.

but what if he has like one random over 11?

A drop is the tiniest of doses. People have various ways to load it. I never got that low, lol.

Let's see how he does and not worry about one random test over 11. You are looking for trends.

If you do get a blue number, feed him and retest him in three hours. If his pancreas is working, the number will drop.
So what should the test schedule be like ? Same ambg and pmbg ?

Yes, if that works for your schedule. As Marje said, if the number is green, all is good. If you get a blue number, feed and retest in three hours. If the BG comes down, you know the pancreas is working and all is well. If the number does not come down, and you continue to get blue readings, post for advice. It is possible you might need to resume insulin at that point.
