Hello all! Thanks for all the previous advice. Looking for any additional dosing advice after a couple more weeks of data. No curve due to parents' illness but hope to get one by Monday! Currently on 3 units, wondering if it is time for a bump.

imho.... with the amount you are testing, I say wait.
You need to get at least another test in the pm cycle besides the preshot test.

a +2 is a good one because if it drops after the pretest and the shot..... it can indicate an active cycle where you would need to continue monitoring.

but if you do decide to increase, only do so by 0.25 u.....
so it would be 3.25 u.

it's just that with minimal testing, he could drop low and you would miss it.
I hope life calms down some so you can get a little more testing in.

bear in mind that you don't want to wait too long because of insulin resistance. You don't want that.

Sometimes we just have things that take precedence, like sick people to take care of.
I don't want to advice an increase that could drop him too low .... if you aren't there to test.

I agree with what Rhiannon has said.....it would really help to have some testing on the PM cycle

Hopefully your life has settled down some and you can start to get those! Most cats do go lower at night, so it's really important to try.

Just a housekeeping note...GA stands for "Gone Ahead" or "Guardian Angel".....a lot of people think it means General Advice or that the person with GA in their name lives in Georgia, but it's what we use when one of our kitties have left us for the Rainbow Bridge

Oops! Shoot. I'll see if I can change it. Did get a +5 this evening and added it to the sheet. Will work on getting +2s as well. Hoping to get a curve in on Monday. Probably won't do any increase over the next couple of weeks because I will be out of the country and don't want to have the caretakers dealing with anything like that. I may be able to get another curve on Wednesday too. :)

I have to agree with the others. It would be nice to get more testing. It is hard to say where each cycle is going especially at night they tend to go lower.
Yes it is better for the caregiver and Bailey to be safe
IMHO I think bailey is going lower at night not to mention when on a dose the depot builds then empties and we can't see that from your Spread sheet. Need more data....
You are doing a great job just need a wee bit more data
:):)
While curves are ok I really feel the most important is the daily tests....;)

Hey, when I first started here I was adding the angel icon to show my appreciation to the peeps helping. I didn't know that it was for kitties who had passed. Oh, such a learning curve here for forum use and this dang Feline Diabetes!

To echo the others, hopefully your life is a bit calmer and you can get some more PM testing in which will help to know if an increase is really needed or if Bailey is bouncing in the AM from lower PM numbers. Keep posting and keep asking questions. That is how we all learned.
