Good Evening, L&LL,

Rusty visited the vettybean today for his monthly B-12 shot. He still has so-so appetite, but otherwise is fine. He got his flea & tick stuff the other day and that may have affected him. Weather is cold and rainy (what else is new?).

I never did make it back to the board yesterday because we were celebrating our Anniversary (no. 48!!). We went to the landfill, visited the boat builder, and had a nostalgic dinner: frankfurter mess (hotdog "pennies" stirfried with veggies, served on pasta). We used to eat this about 5 times a week when we were graduate students in the 1960s and had very little money. The 2017 version was good!! We may make it again soon. It was accompanied by a terrific Austrian Zierfandler. In the '60s we drank Gallo Paisano, but only on weekends.

Hope all is well in L&LL. Sending healing vines to all kitties and beans in need.

Did you have a cat back then?
No. Alice was our first cat. She was a small, round, black cat and looked like a bowling ball. We rescued her on the street in 1989; she was being chased by a gang of little boys with bats and sticks. We never knew how old she was. She died of cancer in 2000. She was very smart and very musical and loved listening to Wagner operas. She would come and sit in front of the speakers whenever she heard Wagner or Strauss. We adopted Stu from the ASPCA in 2001, shortly after 9/11. He was 4 years old and had been returned twice. Stu, who became diabetic in 2006, died of multiple illnesses in September 2010. We adopted Rusty through DCIN in November 2010. We think he's 17 or 18 years old. All of our kitties have been wonderful, loving, and kind.

Yo! Checkin' out the deep end again tonight.

Happy Anniversary! I think it's so special that you had a 'nostalgia' dinner. That's precious. And it was also precious you rescued Alice from those boys. And the rest of them also. :bighug:
