It has been 7 cycles since the last green nadir. I thought he was going to come down to green last night which is why I shot the same dose. On one hand, I know that green is the goal... but on the other hand, I'm happy with these safe blue nadirs. I'm able to sleep and I don't have to load him with carbs to keep him from crashing.

After last night/this morning, there's no more overnight work until next week. Unless there's a miracle today (or a flat blue cycle), I'll probably go up to 11 units tonight.

I'm in the same boat as you are, not sure when to not shoot, Aurora has had some fantastic low numbers and I just don't want to be shooting too low and then having a problem.

It does look like Chino's lost a bit of momentum or as we say this dose has gone stale. Sure he'll go up just to come back down in dose again...it's the game they like to play. At least you've been able to sleep which is a wonderful thing!

Sleep vs. greens. Tough choice. I often backed down on dose a bit to fill the sleep tank, then upped again when refreshed. Looks like he may need 11 units, just a smidge more insulin. Now lets see how he responds to the dosecrease threat.

That could be a good sign! I know it must be nerve-racking, but if Aurora is earning reductions, it means she needs less insulin, which could indicate progress toward remission. If you get a green PMPS on a weekend when you're able to stay up and monitor if necessary, it might be a good idea to give the dose to see how she responds to it. You might find that she has a flatter cycle with a lower pre-shot reading.

Chino just loves making my life difficult. On the first cycle of a bounce, 1 unit of R often takes him from pink to slightly-lower pink. It takes him from red to yellow when he's ready to come down from a bounce. So I gave 1.25 units for a BG of 372, and it gave him 5+ hours in the 260s, but he's not ready to come down from the bounce, so I have no idea what to make of this. Did 0.25 units really make that much of a difference? Or did I just get lucky? If his +4 is the same as the +2 or higher, I'll try it again and see what the impact is on the +8.

Giving R at night is risky unless you will definitely be up at +8 to test. Look how he dropped from 5/16 to 5/17 with no help from R, but his +4 was lower than +2 that night. Using R in the mix does make the "dance" more interesting!

Agreed. That's why I only give R at night if the +2 or +4 is higher than the PMPS.
