NEED ADVICE FOR DEHYDRATION

Hi all,
My cat has been diabetic fror7 months and become dehydrated. He eats wet food 16% carbs because he doesn't accept other wet food. I started to mix his wet food 16% with wet food 3% , anyway when I'm at work he stays alone and eats a little amount of dry food to which he is still addicted.
In the past he suffered from bladder stones and he eats high protein food and his water intake is low. I flush the water with syringe in his food but he remains dehydrated.
His last medical tests are good but the urea is a little bit higher.
25-th March
BUN 64,0 mg/dL
Creatinine 1,11 mg/dL
Amylase 1160 U/L
Lipase 27 U/L
ALT 36 U/L
AST 27 U/L
Thank you for any opinion or advice.
 
Your vet can administer sub-q fluids to help resolve the dehydration; he can also teach you how to do it at home. Keep adding the water to his food, too, I add a tablespoon of water to every meal Squallie eats. :)

Hi Lucy, thanks for advice. I'll talk with the vet about administraion of sub q fluids. At home can be difficult because he is a very nervous cat, even the pills I administate with difficulty.

HERE is old thread about how to give SQ at home with great video - giving SQ fluids is easier than it sounds, really. We did it at home for my cat for a while.

If maybe you can add "Help reading LABs" wordings to your current title about dehydration the people who are experienced in LAB interpretation will look into it.:)

It is normal for cats on canned food to drink little if any water.
How are you concluding that the cat is dehydrated?
What kind of bladder stones (struvite? oxalate?). The pH of the urine is a major contributor of bladder stone formation. The type of foof as well as the cat itself determine urine pH.

Hi Tanya his results are good only urea is high.I'll look at video it seems I 'll become a "vet":)

Hi Larry, I think he is dehydrated because his level of urea is a little high , his fur is "dry".
He had a bladder stones many years ago and I don't remember if there were struvites or oxalates....I have to test his urine PH. Thanks for advice:)
