Harry's liking these low numbers!

On Friday morning he was at 97 for his AMPS and we skipped his shot. He bounced afterwards and was at 285 for his PMPS, and we resumed our normal dose. But now, he's at 95 for his PMPS! Fortunately, I will be able to be home and monitor him. We're stalling right now, but should we stick with our 2u or maybe shave it down to 1.75 because he's so low?

We do have a hypo kit ready, as well as plenty of strips, lancets, etc. so taking care of him isn't an issue, and I don't work tomorrow so I can stay up late. But I'm wondering if we should shoot, and if so, if we should do his usual amount.

Appreciate the response :) He's at 99 after stalling for about 20 minutes. We could do the 2 but man, that's a scary number for me to shoot! I'll wait another 10 minutes or so to see if anyone else has any input, then probably go with a skinny 2 if nobody else responds.

Hey, nice recovery from the NO shot yesterday AM! I need to say, that I can't stay with you tonight but if you can monitor and have plenty of supplies and higher carb food you could shoot. Start by getting a +2 to see how active the cycle is going to be. If the +2 is the same or lower than the PMPS then it is going to be an active cycle and more testing would be required.

Yep, Mandy is right about that. And you have enough data to be able to shoot this number. There is a chance that he will start to bounce up from seeing a lower number but maybe not.

Before I sign off I want to present these to you on behalf of the L & L board for shooting you first green pre shot number. These are the coveted Ball of Steel ( BOS) :cat:

When you shoot your lowest ever, it's a good idea to get a +1 and a +2 test to get a heads up on how the cycle might play out. If he drops early you can apply a bit of carbs to prop him up.

Good shooting! Paws crossed for a lovely flat surf.:D

Insulin starting to kick in by the looks of things.
If he starts dropping too fast or too much too early, you can give him some food to keep him up. just a teaspoon.....you don't want to fill him up too much in case you need him to eat later in the cycle. Hopefully will surf in high green numbers!

I do plan on getting every hour, and if he drops below 60 every 15-30 minutes (just since they're newer numbers for me and I still freak out a little bit if he goes that low). Will update as it comes along!
