Weight loss in regulated cat part 2

I guess so. I have a cat with stomatitis and they asked me to pull out all his teeth but they can't guarantee he will recover. And another cat who had diarrhoea for just one morning and the vet made me do full blood count and her liver enzyme is slightly elevated. She said could be cancer. Just like in jebat's case they said cld b cancer cos he lost weight when I was away. I shld update them that he has put back on. Half the time I thk they r out to make $ from pet owners.
Maybe time for new vets.

Hmmm so I gave him 3.2u but I'm getting pink at +3 n +5.5.
Anyone has any thought on this? Is it a bouncing effect? Cld it b a low reading at +1 or +2? This is like unravelling a mystery.

He might have gone lower in the middle of the previous cycle and is now bouncing a bit. Keep the 3.2 u dose for a total of 3 cycles and then increase to 3.4 u if you don't get lower numbers.

Ok thks. Surprisingly he din wan his food at 4am.

I left a bowl out whole day but he's not interested.
Does vetsulin drop so much? It moved from yellow to green within the hour.
Not usually like that for me.... Although I suppose it's possible. If you ever get an unexpected reading like that id take another test just to double check.

Wanted to but he was getting aggressive. Oh well, can get more readings tonite. Just hope he doesn't bounce like yesterday.

I didn't want to rain on the green parade but with the +5 and +7 numbers, I have to wonder if it really was 84. Also, adding in that if he did go to 84 at +6, I would have expected to see some sort of bounce by PMPS. You didn't, by chance, take another test immediately?:p

Haha now that I thk about the numbers, it's very unlikely to be 84, ya? Darn! I thot we almost got the dose rite this time. And considering we bounced last nite. Oh well! Better luck next time. Now I feel silly to be so excited.

I'm sorry :bighug:. Janet can correct me if I'm wrong but I think as long as his PS is around the 300s, stick with the 3.2U to see what it does once the bounce clears :). You can still be excited because you're making progress :cat:

It's unlikely but she did say she fed him when she saw the 84, so that would raise the numbers. Eh who knows.

On another thought, If it's a faulty strip why does it show a low number and not high? Hmmm I'm consoling myself. But yes, I do think we are making progress. I'm understanding dosing much better now and all these food stuff. Definitely more knowledgeable than my vets.
Do your cats have problem peeing in the box? Mine seems to be peeing outside the box and he's always so smelly. He's such a clean cat all these years that we are at a loss how to help him. Been bathing him weekly now but he gets smelly the next day.

It may not have sucked up enough blood to give proper result but enough to give a reading. Does Jebat have a big step into the box? Could try a shallow one until his neuropathy starts improving :bighug:

Oh din realise about the blood part. Cos once it beeps I thot that's enuf. Never mind, I'll remember to repeat in future.
Just bought a shallower box for him. He went in but he sprayed outside. It's a standard size mind u. :(
