Mouse & Me

Mouse was surfing under 200s lately, and here I was, ready to go to bed, so I tested her - 40!
She was acting strangely, in that she was attacking me for food. She ate her food, and swooped in & hate her brother's bowl of food before I could get her away from it.
I fed her fancy feast pate, with some fancy feast medley gravy lovers together. Wolfed down doesn't even come close to how she ate.

Now, I'm going to see false higher numbers, aren't I?

Is this an allnighter, or is there a time that will be safe, say, 2 or 4 am?
She went from 196 to 40 in four hours. (relion meter)

since that number is below 50.... I would test in 30 minutes ( sooner if you want)
It's okay if the food boosts the numbers now, she's earned her reduction in dose.
next dose should be 2.75 u.

you want her numbers to rise to at least a 70 without the influence of food.....
I would see how the next test is.....
see how much she responded to her gravy..... and if she shoots up.... test again after the food wears off....

i'll check on you.... i'll be around another hour.....

12:30 was at 129. Thank goodness the food worked, but I will be staying up as long as it takes until I know she's not going to zoom down again. She ate an entire can of ff pate, plus the gravy lovers =3-4TB.
She's sleeping lightly, and still begging for food. Not going to happen...yet. She normally eats 1/2 can, then again 4 hours later. Not a big eater. She bloats up very easily. Her & her brother both are like that.

+5~129

I suspected that might be. But it's also the food influence. It would be great if she could just stay in the blues. She doesn't seem to be a limbo cat focused on how low can you go.
amazing that she's still hungry even while cat napping.....

If she continues upward in the next test.... +6...
I would leave food out for her so she can continue..... while you sleep....
and it can be regular low carb......

maybe set an alarm if you are able...... a +10 would be good for your data point....
but I also understand the desire to just sleep.

Normally you only want to feed a couple tsps of the gravy when below 50. The idea is to bump her up, but still have her surfing in the healing green numbers. In addition, you don't want to fill her up with too much food, in case you need her to eat later in the cycle.

I was trying to go for that, but she wolfed down her brother's food. Instead of 1.5oz, she ate more like 2-2.5 LC, and 3-4 TB of HC gravy food. I even had powdered HC food, so I wouldn't be tempted to give her the whole can! I didn't measure it, but I didn't give her a lot, I know that for sure.
I should have a better kit prepared, and make premeasured HC food, saved in individual bags...so no thinking involved, especially when you're dead tired, ready for bed.....that has to stop also, I think. Test the cat, then chill out for 20 minutes, go to bed instead of wanting to jump into bed, test the cat. Hmmmm. everything has be to be rethought.
